That one was taken with a Canon 40D and an ultra crappy 18-55 lens. My normal lens was in for repair and yeah, the photo has been edited.

I know what you mean, but unfortunately for me, I cant really articulate what I mean by 'essence of NYC'. Every time I think of NYC I think of this photo.

Its hard to explain, but having heard so much about time square and finally getting to see it was an amazing and mind blowing experience. Its what stood out for me the most in our trip.
