This is just broscience. There's really no evidence that eating 6 times a day increases your metab. Cold water and spicy food increase the thermogenic effect of food(TEF) a slight bit, but not more than 100 calories per day. However, HIIT does increase your metabolism a little bit, as does heavy lifting. In general, the more muscle you have the more you burn per day, so activities that increase your muscle mass will indirectly increase your metabolism.

From what I've read, drinking cold water does raise your metabolic rate. Your body has to bring it down to core temperature, which takes work.
source
A recent study by germany researchers suggest that 90 minutes after drinking cold water (H20) will boost your metabolism by 24% over their average metabolism rate. Make sure to drink your water cold. Not only does water keep your body lean it also helps with keeping the flow of nutrients and helps get rid of free radicals. Make sure you're keeping the water cooler near by.If you're absent during my struggle, don't expect to be present during my success.

It has been shown in different studies that by drinking "ice cold water" actually burns more calories than anything. Supposedly your body has to work harder to warm the water in your system which in turns burn calories. I am sure that it does, but, probably not enough to make a HUGE difference. I would assume 20 calories an 8oz glass. Maybe less.
Naturally hot and spicy foods are natural fat burners, so onions, jalapenos and other types of spicy pepper will naturally boost your metabolism. The reason being is a naturally occurring element called capisian. Once again, does it boost your metabolism enough to make a huge difference, probably not, but every little bit helps. BTW, the guy that posted about Lipo6, the key ingredient in most fat burners is capisian in high doses.
Eating small meals throughout the day has had proof to show that it boosts your metabolism. The actual process of breaking down food burns up calories. So if you eat several meals throughout the day, you'll burn up more calories through the digestion process.
Exercise also boosts metabolism. Metabolism is primarily driven by our muscles. For every pound of muscle on our body we burn approximately 35 calories per day. Every pound of fat on the other hand burns a measly 2 calories per day. Strength training is the key to maintaining and building more metabolically active muscle.
Hope this helps.

+1.
Stop the f'in Bro science people!!!!! 6 meals a day DO NOT boost metabolism, there's absolutely no proof of that, in fact there's proof that it DOESN'T. It can help with portion control and staying full, but it does not boost metabolism.
And drinking ice cold water!!?!? c'mon! You'd have to drink 10-20 gallons of ice cold water to even start making a difference in calories burned to heat the water up to body temp.
