Post your favourite food from your culture
I like cooking so i want some ideas to try different dishes from different cultures so give me a hand--
Can you list your favourite dish from your culture: its name in your language and the details of what it taste like and where to get it?
Im half chinese so : cha su bow is a snack that is good--You get it in chinese bakeries and its a bun that has been steamed or baked. It taste sweet(ish) and its not doughy tasting since they are baked or steamed. I prefer the baked ones. Its a good cheap snack...you can get bbq pork it, curry or other ingredients
This is the steamed ones:

Heres some other different kinds:

I'm not sure if the question was for me but I'll answer it anyway. I don't know where you live so I really don't know if it's available in your area. You can however roast a pork shoulder w/ skin and roughly get the same result. All you need is a pork shoulder, some dry rub (salt and pepper works fine), and you're good to go. set the oven at 250-300. roast for 1 1/2 - 2 hrs depending on the size of the shoulder. use your fav sauce/dip and enjoy.

It's good. I like to go for deep fried Mars Bar with vanilla ice cream, or banana with the same though. Good for dates.

We seem to have a lot of filipinos in this thread. I may as well add another popular filipino dish. May i present the misc with dinuguan:
From wiki: Dinuguan is a popular Filipino dish also known as pork blood stew, "chocolate meat", or "chocolate pudding". It is a savory stew of blood sausage and offal simmered in a rich, spicy gravy of pig blood, garlic, chili and vinegar.
I ate it when I was a kid when my parents called it chocolate meat. I haven't touched it since I heard what it really was.

Uhh, I'm Korean and I've eaten some exotic things ( cow intestines, duck colon, etc.) but that balut looks ****ing gross. How could that be even remotely good? Do you even cook that ****?
Anyways, my absolute FAVORITE food in the world is PHO. I can honestly eat this three times a day for the rest of my life. My two brothers are the same way. We eat pho once a week but I can ****ing own a large bowl of pho with all of the fixings in a minute (soup too).
