Do you know what a capella is, chashma?
If you have a look at SK's answers, you will see he is very thorough and precise in his answering of topics like this. Why? You need to be quite precise in your answers, otherwise you end up with the sort of clusterfck you've seen here, where you just categorically banned all forms of music, including nasheeds off your own cognisance. Very brave of you, I must say....
If you are intent on running this thread in his absence (as you seem to be), step up your game.

Let me remind everyone that even nasheeds containing musical instruments are haram.

Say: O People of the Scripture! Come to a common word between us and you: that we shall worship none but God, and that we shall ascribe no partner unto Him, and that none of us shall take others for lords beside God. And if they turn away, then say: Bear witness that we are they who have surrendered (unto Him). (Aal ‘Imran 3:64)
Following this verse I started a thread in this section " WE WORSHIP THE SAME GOD" which is getting a lot of opposition from the athiest community. No Pain No Gain

I was just wondering what you guys do with your prayer schedule. I work relatively late, till 11 pm. I was wondering what you guys did for fajr prayer, especially those with late sleeping hours. Do u wake up, pray, and then sleep. or do u arrange ur time differentley.

Yup.
http://www.al-islam.org/beauty_charity/
This is what happens when corruption, indecency and misguided faith compels people to turn sins into good deeds. Hypocrisy is so prevalent in all Muslim countries which is opposite of what Allah and His Messenger wanted.
They believe that it makes a women mingle with other men. Or that men are able to see her.
This is a wrong concept since if a woman is in purdah, it will not matter who views her. She is covered and free from being restricted to move around.
Yes, that is possible. But be sure that once you wake up for fajr prayers to not sleep until the sun has risen (that is when fajr is no longer valid)
Imam Ali has said:
Lead the Zuhr prayer till the shadow of a wall becomes equal to the height of the wall, the Asr prayers can be performed till the sun is still bright and enough time of the day is left for a person to cover a distance of six miles. The Maghrib prayers should be performed when people break their fasts and when Hajj pilgrims return from Arafat. And the time for Isha prayers is when the red glow of the even twilight disappears from the West, till one-third of the night is still left. The morning prayers are to be performed when there appears enough light of the dawn for a man to recognize the face of his companion.Last edited by sherenk; 01-30-2011 at 07:47 PM.

The only person ruining this thread is you. It's not a coincidence that the moment SK steps out you come barging in with your half-wit reasoning throwing around words and definitions you don't understand.
Chasma is using the word correctly. You have no idea what your talking about because you'd rather spend your time posting weak sarcastic remarks on a bodybuilding subforum rather than cracking open a book and educating yourself. Chasma, whether he knows it or not, is using the legal precising definition of the word music. You are using a contemporary cultural definition. The very subject of this thread denotes which definition is at play, however, you'd rather play intellectual than sit and think for just one moment.
To the rest of the posters in this thread: Most of you have not been here long enough or haven't had enough experience dealing with Weightaholic or his ilk. He and people like him thrive on confrontation. The more you respond the more aggressive, abusive, and virulent he becomes. If I may offer some advice: leave them to themselves. I know how strong the urge can be to respond to fools like Weightaholic, but you only frustrate yourself and waste time better spent on other subjects.
Upon receipt of your neg, Weightaholic (yes, you are THAT predictable), I'll be returning it with a positive rep. What this will do is show you that no matter how many rep points you have it will not mask nor make up for your complete inability to reason in an acceptable manner. And if you think no one else notices your handicap you're delusional.

As-Salaamu aleikum wa rahmat Allah wa barakatahu
We have to keep in mind that just because Muslims do something does not mean it is permissible behavior. In fact, many scholars in the sub-continent speak out about these un-Islamic practices and behaviors.

When I was working those hours, and sometimes still do when I help my cousins, I would still wake up in time for fajr and pray. I noticed I woke up with a lot of energy when my intention was to wake up for Allah swt so that I may worship Him.
if you're having problems I recommend this lecture on the sleeping habits of the Prophet(pbuh) by Muhammed Al-Shareef.

Prayer is valid till the next. Fajr is valid until sunrise, dhuhr is valid till asr, asr is valid till maghrib, maghrib is valid till isha, and isha is valid till fajr.

Asalamu Alaykum,
Some nights I get off at 12-2am but I still wake up for fajr and then go back to sleep. The sunnah is though to wake up early and start your day early. Not easy for us who work late.
It isnt easy waking up for fajr but I usually put 4-5 alarms on just incase I miss the first few.

Asalamu Alaikum Akhi,
I was wondering or looking for evidence that in Islam Allah has provided us with three things that are prewritten/predestined. For example, like marriage (naseeb) it is already pre written by Allah SWT who you will marry or how many times you will marry. Also the time/place of your death.
If this is true, what is the third? I always heard of this but was never presented with authenticated evidence.

Wa'alaykum Asalam,
Everything is predestined in Islam not only the two that you have in mind. Qadr(decree) is one of the six pillars of faith that every Muslim should believe in.

Allah has given us free will. He has shown us the right path which is the path that the prophet(pbuh) showed us. We make the choice if we choose to follow that path or not. We will be judged by our actions on the day of judgment.
“Has not the story reached them of those before them? — The people of Nooh (Noah), ‘Aad, and Thamood, the people of Ibraaheem (Abraham), the dwellers of Madyan (Midian) and the cities overthrown [i.e. the people to whom Loot (Lot) preached]; to them came their Messengers with clear proofs. So it was not Allaah Who wronged them, but they used to wrong themselves”
