If it helps, I managed to catch Dean on the phone last Friday for a few minutes to make a slight change to my order. Sounds like mine will get worked on next week and get shipped shortly after that. If that timing holds, it will be right around 6-weeks from order to delivery.

I'm at about the 2 month mark with no email that it was going to get started or anything.

Just got off the phone with them now. I was able to put in an order on 3/27 before they stopped taking orders. They are really backed up and I was told that it will probably be an extra 4 weeks on top of the 5 weeks I've already waited. Lady was really nice on the phone. She stated that they send out emails when your belt starts production and when it gets shipped with a tracking number. I hope this belt lives up to all the hype I've been hearing.

I'll preface by saying that I don't own a Best Belt. With that said, based on the pictures I have seen of them they look like they are top notch quality.
The fact that they have a banner on their site saying that they have quit taking orders due to overwhelming work should tell everyone that they are probably pretty busy! I have never read a bad review on them, and especially never one where they never delivered on an order.
I understand the excitement and the anxiousness surrounding a new belt, my Inzer took TWELVE WEEKS to get to me! Whether you are having a quality belt made by a large company or a small husband and wife team one thing will always be the same, it'll take some time! My next belt will be from the Best's, and I don't care how long it takes because I know no corners will be cut. No pun intended.[]---[] Ivanko Barbell Crew #72 []---[]

You need a good rack, a bench, and a 300-lb Olympic weight set. Now, what was your question?

I have 2 belts from BB, they are absolutely incredible. The reason I have 2 is that I lost a bit of weight after my first one so I wanted one with a bit less extra space.

Has anyone ordered one of these recently? I bought one based on all the awesome reviews I read. I placed the order on 10/18, it was confirmed on 10/19. It said I'd get another email when construction started. Nothing yet. I emailed them yesterday asking for a status, but have not heard back. Is this typically the way they work? I am competing in early December, so would like to make sure I have a belt by then (more than the 4-6 weeks they say it takes to make from the time of order).

It took multiple weeks for my belt to start its build and I got it 9-10 weeks after ordering (earlier this year -- see post above). I found calling them works better than email.
Just keep in mind that they are a small mom & pop shop that delivers a quality, handmade product at a reasonable price. Demand is high and customer communication could be better. Patience is a virtue.[]---[] Equipment Crew #73 []---[]

Awesome, thanks so much for the info! I don't mind waiting because I hear they are awesome. I will give them a buzz and see if I can get an ETA or something. I can always get something temporary for competition day if necessary. Just wanted to make sure it was normal not to start the build for a while.
Thanks again!
