    Hurting joints

I've been doing some compound exercises, occassionally I will only focus on one muscle group in an exercise like let's say standing calf raises. Also I will admit I've been squating alot for my size. About two 45's on each side, and I only weigh about 150. I took a couple days break from working out, I usally only workout 3 times a week anyways, but my knees hurt like hell and my elbows hurt a little too. Is this pain something I should be worried about or will it go away with a recovery week? What all advice is needed, beginner here so please help me out.

THere's a lot of reasons why your knees could hurt

    - the animal flex comment suggests that there's either deterioration (glucosamine/chondroitin) or inflammation (omega 3s) that needs to be addressed.

This may or may not be the case. Same with what i'm about to say, so ya need to check it out.

WHat i often see with folks who have sore elbows or knees is that something in their movement sets of the compensation to be paid by these joints.

One of the best ways to find out if what you're experiencing is mobility/stability/whole movement related is to get an assessment - functional movement screen or z-health are the two i know about.

Doing anything else is just us here guessing.

Here's a list of FMS trainers
    http://www.functionalmovement.com/SI...fmstrainer.php

    Here's a list of z-health trainers.

If there's not someone in your area, i work with folks over the web via webcam and skype too.

Here's more about what happens in a movement assessment and why it's a good idea.

    Hope that helps.

ps while form is critical our form can look great and still have dysfunction in it to compensate for mobility/stability issues...

I don't know anything you guys wrote, I'm asking what could have caused my knees to suddenly start aching. I'm only 20 and 2nd year bodybuilding, I couldn't have damaged my knees by working out only 3 times a week for 30 mns at a time could I? The first guys answers are incomplete, and I don't understand.

    What is

    Animal flex
    Pudnages
    orange triad

And 2nd poster, your sentence is not comprehensible to me

What exactly is this supposed to mean?

Why not google the animal flex etc

and the links associated with the above provide a complete explanation of what a movement assessment is.

"folks who have sore elbows or knees is that something in their movement sets of the compensation "
    of should be off.

in other words, you might have crap movement somewhere that is causing your knees to pay the price of that crap movement. get an assessment, or at the very least start practicing some z-health or related djmovement - there's a link there about that too.

All you have to do is click.
if you're in UNI, it's cuz you're smart and motivated to do some work to educate yourself, right. lots of resources in these posts from two folks sufficient for a smart guy to do some digging on his own, no?
