It's a poor business decision by the IPF no doubt. They double the license fee in a crap economy, and as a consequence they lose over half of the manufacturers. In this economy its more likely that USAPL lifters will just go raw instead, so its not like the companies that leave will be clamoring to come back.

I think it's obscene what th ipf is doing. They jacked up the "sponsorship" cost to double what it was. This hurts the lifters more than anyone. Now my singlet, wrist wraps are useless all bc of the ipfs greed.
What other federation has tese types of issues with constantly changing rules and gear?Best Raw USAPL Competition Lifts

yeah but at least IPF is recognized worldwide as being a legit fed as far as judging and competition goes. I'd rather belong to a fed like that and have it making some bad sponsership policies, than joining a fed that has great sponsership policies but terrible judging at comps and one that is labelled by many as a sham fed.
But i agree it's still stupid how they do that to people.

Seriously? That's such a joke. Ivanko does make the best barbells and weights in the world... IMO
I hope they had some sort of logical reasoning for doing this.... I can't think of any though
Definitely agreed that it hurts the lifters more than anyone. Not many people can afford to spend $500+ in new gear just so they can lift in the IPF. Not to mention the time and frustration it takes to learn new gear and have to miss competitions because of it.
And maybe they change their rules a lot (more than they should), but at least they follow their rules unlike some feds where you see quarter squats, no pause on benches, no lockouts on benches, not locking out deads, etc. And most of the "rule changes" that most people bitch about were proposed rules that never went into affect. There is no such thing as 'strong enough'

You're ****ing kidding me, metal as well? Please confirm, I can't wear my metal knee AND wrist wraps in any IPF affiliated fed?
Goddamn it. I could go buy some inzer or titan wraps but that's not the point. Do I play in a heavy INZER band? NO. Do I listen to heavy TITAN? NO! I don't know how to handle this...

agree with u and trettinR on those points. However, as a lifter, it's frustrating that consistent judging and being more accomodating with gear usage are mutually exclusive.
Why can't we have a fed that judges like usapl and has consistent rules that do not change. I mean the ONLY reason this banning took place is because of money. Has nothing to do with the equipment not being up o spec. And who gets screwed? The lifters. Disappointing.Best Raw USAPL Competition Lifts

No, this has been in the works for months. I subscribe to Crain's newsletter, and he was saying months ago that he wouldn't pay the fee that the IPF was demanding, so his stuff would no longer be IPF-approved. It sucks, cause even though nobody wears his gear, he's a permanent fixture at any big midwest USAPL meet.
Now to decide if I want to buy new wrist wraps for the Arnold or go without. I feel impending wrist/knee nudity...314/231/352/881@123

lol i wish every gear company would just say **** it and not pay the IPF ****.
I am getting more and more dis-interested in the IPF by the day.
IPF worlds last year put me to fcking sleep, there was less noise at the IPF worlds for a guy squatting 950 then there was for a guy squatting 500 at raw unity. also their gay heels on the floor rule for bench... and with RUM one of the best raw meets in the world in my back yard, I seriously doubt I will ever even bother to get into gear.

After reading this I would never support the IPF/USAPL in any way.
Banning equipment because the manufactures refused to pay you off? Nice ethics IPF.
