    Multi-Hyper/GHD... does this thing work?

    Okay long time lurker, first post here. I've gotten quite interested in getting a glute ham machine for my home gym. As you fellow home gym owners know, square footage in the gym is highly coveted, and I don't want a large chunk of my almost at capacity floor space occupied by a six foot by three foot ghd, if I could get something adjustable and smaller. There may be a product that fits that bill in this:

    ST Fitness 8525 Multi-Hyper Extension GHD

    (Just over 300 bucks at Christian's fitness on-line can't post links! <30 posts)
    Has anyone tried this thing? It looks to be made by star trac... they have a pretty good reputation from what research I've done; the footprint is small, and I could do 45 degree hypers on it too? I just wonder if this thing works well at all for glute ham raises.

    Thanks

    I saw this on there website the other day and was curious about it as well. The thing that concerns me is the lack of padding. I would think that would make it uncomfortable as a GHR. Curious what everyone else thinks about it. Here's the link.

    You can do 45 degree hypers, and back raises on them (and sit-ups etc etc). For glute ham raises, not really. You'll have to build a new front pad, and extend the footplate, on the assumption the foothold down can actually get to the right position for them.

    Still very versitile though in my opinion.

    I have this version;
    http://www.powertecfitness.com/produ...tension-crunch
    It's very good, never tried the startrac but I hear good things about the company's products as a whole.

    Christian was either drunk when he build that page or has no idea what a GHR looks like and what purpose does it serve.

    Thanks for the responses guys, I was hoping for a more positive prognosis on this piece. I would really like to see some images of someone attempting to do a glute-ham raise on this thing, or even a picture where it is adjusted into the proposed position for such a movement. I'd still love to hear from anyone who has seen or used this thing for anything other than a 45 deg. hyper machine.

    Looking at the total weight of the machine and the size of its base I have a feeling there will be no pictures of anyone doing a Glute Ham rais on this thing. I bet anyone who tried kissed the floor hard when it tipped forward.
