    Skim milk or 2%

doing a clean bulk/maintenance, I noticed that the sugar content in skim milk is a lot higher.. I'm fine with the taste of either, just wanderings if I should go with skim milk which has higher sugar content or 2% which has higher fat content. Sorry for the newbie question.

I do unsweetened soy milk, in part because of the amount of sugar in any milk I would consume in a day.

    Exclamation

    Whole milk.

Can someone explain to me why in the name of Zeus's b_tthole should I pay the same amount of money for less calories in reduced fat and skim milks??? If you're worried about calories simply drink LESS of whole milk...

I was drinking whole milk (150 total calories) at the start of my cut, but I wanted to add more food so I switched to skim milk (90 total calories) and added string cheese (60 total calories).

Since the switch to skim I've been looking for a lower calorie alternative so I'm trying soy milk (50 total calories). One thing nice about soy is it has the same amount of calcium as milk.

I'm not too concerned with sugar. My diet isn't packed with sugar foods. I'm more concerned with keeping total calories in control with a good balance of nutrients.

    Thumbs up 1%

I tried to do the skim thing...personally I couldn't handle it....I didn't want to drink 2% and I decided to stay away from soy all together.....I settled on 1% and I'm happy.....

skim milk is good for you the sugar in it comes from lactose. As long as your not lactose intolerant than the sugar is not bad sugar and is actually good for you in small quantities. Like 1-2 8oz glasses of skim milk per day.

If you have problems digesting dairy products I would avoid them altogether though. Like if they cause bloating, stomach cramps, gas, or diarrhea
