    CKD Overrated?

I am currently on a CK diet, trying to cut. I am thinking about cutting back on the frequency of my carb up days. It just seems that they are somewhat unneeded. I currently carb up once a week, try to do cardio 5 times a week and lift 3 times a week. I am thinking about cutting it back to only once every two weeks. Has anyone experimented with this? Any advice?

It's completely up to you. There is no law that says YOU MUST CARB UP EVERY 7 DAYS. Some people do better with more often carbups, some less often.

I like to do it weekly since it's just easier to plan for every Sat. I just try to BUST MY BUTT during the week so I know it is justified

Overrated is such a strong word. Everyone is different. The main purpose of carbups is to replenish your glycogen and give your muscles the fuel they need to push you through your workouts. If you feel you don't need it weekly then feel free to experiment with whatever timetable works for you. Your body will let you know what is appropriate. How hard do you push yourself in the gym those 3 days of lifting?

I usually work to muscle failure on two of the three days. I focus mostly on compound exercises (squats, bench, deadlifts) using a 5x5 type program, mixing in some "filler" exercises like pullups/pushups/crunches/bicep curls. I suppose its possible I should lenghten my lifting sessions, or increase the intensity and keep the carb ups...

    A) Reduce frequency
    B) Reduce duration = amount of carbs during carb up

Personally, I don't like the flat look keto can give you. If you feel like the carb ups are hindering your goals, you might be consuming too many carbs during your carb up.

If you just don't like carb ups, then by all means reduce frequency.

As was stated, it is a lot of trial and error to find out what works for you.

Some on here don't carb up at all...

i've experimented with every week, fortnightly, and monthly. i did not see any change in results except major fatigue and mental anguish on the monthly. personally i settled on a cheat meal a week and that works for me.

Its different for everyone. Some people HAVE to have their weekly carbup, some people carbup every two week (like myself). The key is finding your balance and what works for you.
