dull pain in mid/lower back when standing up

I first started having this pain on Sunday of last week. I don't know if it was from lifting because I trained back on Tuesday, but the pain didn't start until 5 days later.

Anyway, I am getting a dull pain in my mid/lower back, only on the right side. It feels like it's coming from the spinal erector.

I only get the pain when I am standing up for a period of time, usually like 10 or so minutes the pain will begin.

Does anyone have any idea what this can be? What are some ways that I can help it recover? Should I skip back day next week totally or just go light?

    thanks

How low is it? How lateral?

If it's in the lower rib area it could be that one of them is subluxed.

Otherwise, it's likely a cramping muscle. The serratus posterior inferior is in that area and can cramp like that. Same with the rest of the spinal erectors.

Use some heat. Get a deep tissue massage. Take some anti-inflammatories like fish oil.

If it's cramping muscles then you should see some pretty immediate improvement. If it's not, see a PT or chiro and they can check if anything is out of alignment.

I googled serratus posterior inferior and that is the exact spot in which I am experiencing the pain.

I still have some pain as of today, but it feels a bit better than it was. Would you recommend not training back at all this week? just go light?

I would recommend not aggravating it. If you have to miss a few workouts so be it -- it's not worth seriously injuring yourself in which it may take months to recover from in some cases.

I still STRONGLY suggest the massage and heat. It will help it improve that much faster.
