What are the best exercises/routines for a wide/broad upper back, and also a wide/broad chest?

    Thanks a lot,

Well if you want a wide upper back, as in wider lats, you could do wide-grip pull-ups and weighted pull downs. For a wide chest, you'd do dumbbell flyes; flat, incline, and decline.

You'll want to target musculature which gives the appearance of a wide upper body (entire back region emphasizing lats, lateral deltoids, entire chest region).

Your search for movements can start here: http://www.exrx.net/Lists/Directory.html.

Generally speaking, the wider your grip, the wider the muscles being focused.

Just be careful if you decide to do wide-grip bench. When going wider on bench, you will tend to flare your elbows out more making your shoulders more susceptible to injury.

Bent over rows, and heavy 1 arm DB rows will help with your lats and heavy flat wide grip BB bench will help give you width, also chuck in some light DB flyes towards the end of your session to get the chest real worked.
