How to get rid of tuna and eggs smells in garbage?

I was thinking of pouring hot coffee over the empty tuna can before i dispose of it.

or just wash the can before trashing it! soap and water!

I have a desk job & I have the same issues, I typically do one of the following:
-Throw away stinky food waste on the factory shop floor or in a "common" break area (away from my desk & my cube-mates)
-I usually always have something that is in a ziplock bag, I use the baggie to place my tuna can or egg shells in to keep the smell contained

I'm not sure of your situation or if these options work for you, this is just what I do.

I would take the trash outside. I'm not so sure of how it'd work in your garbage, but when I lived with my parents I had a garburator, and when it started to smell, you'd just fire a chunk of lemon, grapefruit or other citrus fruit or peel down there.

Put it in someone else's trash.

I have trash bags that kill the odor... Forgot what they were called, but I got them at Target for like 3 bucks for 24 bags or so.
