Well, I officially learned that this is the wrong place to talk about Apple products.. because people think the more-expensive, keyboard less, camera-free, windows-based HP Slate is better than an iPad.

You repped me saying that Google provides content and Apple does the experience/interface. When in reality if you knew anything about Googles newer projects they provide the best experience/interface.

Hey you could have returned the favor rather than criticize me..

Lol I'll believe that if Chrome OS/Android ever catches up to iPhone. Why do they have two mobile OS's is beyond me.. one is pro-cloud, one is pro-app.. Google is confused I still love Google though

Its interesting to see a search company make operating systems, they sure have a lot to learn. But with role models like Apple, they're bound to get somewhere... right?

Lol I actually saw a guy in my school put an Apple sticker over his HP logo - super cool guy

He told me that he put the sticker on, went to sleep, and when he woke up, his computer was running Mac OS X! Even when his HP broke, he actually tricked the people at the Genius Bar to give him Apple quality service.

I do have to admit that i had a HP computer and with all wanted to burn the damn thing just because of all the firewall BS i had to put up with not to mention everything else. I GAVE that mother away and got a Macbook. GREATEST purchase i have ever made. Runs smooth, and so on and so forth.

As far as the Iphone. I have TRIED to give other phones a chance but always reference how well the Iphone works whenever comparing and seem to find that the Iphone always works smoother more effectively.

within the last couple years Apple has become the REAL DEAL, there products come out with little on them but remember they can ALWAYS create an APP for that.

true true but some of us dont have to come on here talking about that which would make us cool to justify buying or not buying a product.

(about to click and submit post and with the faith i have in my apple computer know i will not have to send an ERROR REPORT TO MICROSOFT)

That's awesome that it's virus free, but worms and spyware are the most dangerous things.

A client bought us one. I love apple products, however I thought this was going to be a dud.

After having it for a few days I find myself using it more than the laptop. It's very intuitive to use and delivers a good experience with the bonus of a Kindle replacement. I am pretty impressed with the iPad.

My only problem is that my 19 month old girl constantly wants to take it for the toddler learning apps. You know its an easy device when she can grab it, swipe the unlock, swipe to her apps page and go back and forth between the apps without us showing her how.

Honestly, my opinion on the ipad is this.

IF you have the moeny and you don't have anything else to spend it on, go for it. Its what the iPhone was when it first came out. REALLY cool but lacking A TON of features. But what the iPhone did was OPEN the doors into the future. Thanks to them we now have an ocean of touchscreen phones. And now thank's to the iPad (not the first touch screen "laptop") we will now have quality and competiveness coming out from every angle. Yes it might take 1 more year to see this happening but its the future unveiling in front of our eyes.

I saw an article that claims that they, by accident, cured aids from a man. People still say "it was just an accident" but I said "This is AWESOME this is the step we needed to get closer to the permanent solution!".

Now would I buy one? **** no. I dont't have 700 (sorry but base model is b.s..16gb? ) to spend on a toy, because right now its essentially a toy for most users. If I had the cash and honestly did some traveling I would jump on it. The simple fact that I can watch a movie without it getting up to 80 deg celcius is a winner for me lol (talking bout mbp.Bitches get hot)

Actually, even if you had the money, now is not the time to buy the ipad...i GUARANTEE they will have an upgrade, v1.0, that will have more robust, usable hardware. As it is now, its Apple beta testing on the fanboys.

and that as well. I feel v2.0 will give use more due to the fact that ipad is kinda mocking the iPhone. So of the latest iPhone comes with 2 cameras, flash and some hardware updates its going to get thrown on this one.

The iPhone is just a small iPad.

Apple just needed to find a way to condition us to use it.

I think its a cool concept, but like usual it seems HP will bring the better product with the Slate imo.

    Bad news man..

Real cramped keyboard>cramped digital keyboard (Judging from the comment that it is "almost laptop sized keys" from Apple)

Are the smaller trackpads really a big deal? They are big enough to get the job done and are a non issue. Don't be Steve Jobs and make issues out of nothing. Plus some netbooks have touchscreens which can scroll and have a trackpad and multitouch trackpads and a real keyboard. BTW, ever heard of "gliding" for scrolling? One flick and it keeps going. Or you could set up gestures to go to the bottom of the page or top in your browser. Or seeing as most people read one page at a time this doesnt seem like much of an issue, Steve.

Netbooks dont need IPS, they have a screen that can be set to point at you... What are you getting at? Apple didnt go with OLED because their profit margins would be on par with regular manufacturers or they would have charge 1000+ for it. Its not because of supply.

Windows 7 can put two screen/programs side by side. iPhone OS cant. You're dumb and blinded if you think this is better.

10 hour battery is nice if true. I never brought that up.

So you want to buy a "concept device" that doesnt accomplish anything at this time besides being a model for a real usable device. Okay buddy... This isnt an argument at all again but rather a reason not to buy it again.

A bigger iTouch means that you dont hold it like an iTouch. Thats what sucks, not only that but no camera (Costs them 10 bucks...).

BTW this screen has lower PPI than the iTouch which isnt spectacular in the least. Anything else?
    Ouch..

#1: Last night TechCrunch reported that, according to an unnamed "source briefed on the matter," HP had stopped development of the Slate in its tracks, killing off the project entirely. Why? Well, according to the source, HP isn't thrilled with Windows 7's performance on the tablet.

#2: Microsoft has finally confirmed that it has been working on a tablet concept known as "Courier," but the company has also announced that it has "no plans to build such a device at this time."
