Well I started winter workouts last week, been doing alot of running, only thing is our school's workout program is not all that great, we do like 4 exercises 3x10 with little rest, and although its a good workout we dont lift heavy, and I'm not used to it, I'm afraid I will get weaker and smaller on this program, but I'm doing whatever the team asks of me because I want to come in and start. What can I do?

dont worry about it, you might lose some muscle and a bit of strength but it wont be dramatic difference!

i dont think that would hurt (*keep in mind i dont know the program and dont know how ur body reacts*) if you start off slow after you get used to the intensity! just make sure you get plenty of rest at night and you are on a proper nutritional diet!

Don't overtrain and lift on your own, I've done that. It's either you do their program or you don't. Your choice.
Get on a good diet so fit your goals, you know your body so you should know what to eat to maintain.
Take an ice bath or some kind of active recovery after every workout. Contrast showers, STATIC STRETCHING (do NOT neglect this), foam rollers, ect. This will make sure you're fresh for the next workout."Giving your best is more important than being the best."
I train as an athlete, not a bodybuilder.

Well then I don't know what to tell you besides you should get used to it soon. Called conditioning for a reason ;]
Are you getting enough sleep? Lets your body recover better haha?"Giving your best is more important than being the best."

You should keep gaining strength even though your using submaximal weights. I think qb put like 70 lbs on his squat in a couple months like that.
