    binge eating at night

(I hope this is the right forum)

I find one of my biggest issues is eating at night time. Either I'm eating toast with peanut butter and jelly or its cheese and crackers.

I get so frustrated with myself it's rather depressing.

Any suggestions for someone who cannot stop eating at night before bed?

I was considering taking a Six Star Professional Strength Whey Protein before I start getting hungry.

56 grams of protein must be better the toast peanut butter and jelly right?

Try drinking a glass of water.

Or perhaps split your dinner. Eat 2/3rds at dinner time and the the remaining 1/3rd a couple hours later.

Then again, if your diet allows for a snack at bedtime then "go for it." Although I'm sure some folks don't like the idea of eating just before bedtime.

oh I'm pretty sure my diet doesn't allow for night snaking.

I drink water like you say but it's still hard to over come.

My daily diet right now 5 days a week is as follows.

    Morning Never changes

56 Gram Protein Shake (with 1 cup Milk)
    Banana
    Orange
    Kashi Bar

    Lunch Never changes

    Over Baked Chicken Breast
    Cucumber
    Tomato
    Romain lettuce
    Yogurt
2 tbs Greek feta dressing (Olive oil Only)

    Workout time

56 Gram Protein Shake (with 1 cup Milk)

    Dinner

    Pasta (spaghetti) (Meat Balls)
    Rice Stir Fry
    Oven Backed Chicken
    Lasagna
    Tacos
    Pork Chops

All dinners have a side with the following

    Potatoes
    Broccoli
    Carrots
    Cauliflower
Side Salad with tomato, cucumber, onion and dressing (Olive oil Only)

if you can, try to eat about ~6 smaller meals throughout the day. also try to drink about a gallon of water a day, that should help with your binge eating.

Maybe you should spread your meals out a little, and I can understand why you get hungry at night, because your eating dinner at 6:30 and thats 5 hours in between from then and your bed time, depending on your calorie needs, eating before bed is not a bad thing. Lots of people like to eat some sort of slow digesting protein before bed, like cottage cheese is a good option if you like that.

if you feel guilty, go drill a coupla holes (with a manual auger) in callander bay and let me know how thick the ice is.

    sorry that doesn't help.

i think the whole eating thing before bedtime is a myth -- provided cals in does not exceed cals out (if you're trying to lose weight) for the day.

Actual I love cottage cheese. I never knew it was actually good for me haha! Thanks for the advice I will see if I can find a list of healthy slow digesting protein foods that I can eat before bed.

Seeing I'm working out 5 days a week I don't mind eating before bed and I don't get many calories from my daily diet. I think the slow digesting protein foods could be a solutions for me.

Have you considered intermittent fasting? I've read posts with people having great success on this. Fast until about 4-6pm with only drinking liquids or something very light. By that point, there isn't enough time for you to go over your calorie needs for that day since you have close to your full 2500-3500 calories available to go through in only a few hours.

I've found that excessive carbs in any form tend to be the #1 starter for my occasional binging at night. I try to limit as many sweets and bread as I can towards bedtime.

I am having great results with Intermittent fasting. You get used to not eating during the day, and every night you get to feast and it is very satisfying.
Enjoy yourself, bitches. Its a celebration

Well that was actually tough to determine because I was also weight lifting. I can however confirm 7 weeks at those nutrients and I lost about 1 and a half inches from my stomach line.

Many of my friends said I was starving myself but I didn't think so. I really needed to loose weight I was 212 lbs with no muscle all fat and 36 mans pants were tight lol.

For total weight loss I have only loss 4 lbs. But like I stated I gained a lot of muscle mass in my chest, abs, arms, legs and glutes.

I'm excited to see what the next few weeks brings with the new protein diet.

    My Stats,

    I'm 5 foot 10 inches
    208 lbs

I sit in an office all day doing marketing and sales.

How long have you been training?
What was your diet like before moving to this type of diet and any idea the amount of calories you were taking in then?

Actually it's ironic but I started eating really healthy before I started working out. No matter what I would eat I wouldn't loose weight. I seriously ate like rabbit. I ate tuna wrapped in leaf lettuce and broccoli. I ate chicken salads with broccoli and cucumber etc.. very green food.

But it wasn't working so I bought the GYM membership and the trainer put me on a plan. I work it 5 days a week. I have been at it for 8 weeks now this is my ninth.

I do 22 minutes of the treadmill every day and work the following,

    biceps 50 lbs 3 sets of 12

Is that your schedule for working out 5 days a week? Meaning you hit everything 5 days a week?

Start the Warrior diet and you can eat everything at night hahah.

Two tips you can try, didn't read this thread:

Cottage cheese and almonds at night - the dairy and fats in the almonds should fill you up and trigger some satiation hormone release which might stop you from hitting the sandwiches.

Mixing chocolate protein powder in french vanilla yogourt. This stuff should be illegal it's so good. If it's the sweetness your after, this is a great way to get it without the huge carb rush.

Im no expert, but that seems like way too much. your muscles will never have a chance to recover. I only hit the same muslce every 5-6 days. Absolutely would never hit them everyday. I know of some people that can do it every 3-4 days, but everyday is overkill in my opinion.

I agree with the meals more often. I eat 5-6 meals a day. It also helps so you when you do eat, your not super hungry and devour everything in site.

There is nothing wrong with eating before bed.
