    Cool Volleyball Journal 2010

So I found out what I really wanted to do in college and there's a tryout for Jan 27th, 9 - 11pm at Student Life Center in Court 4. There are a few more dates for tryouts but I wanna be the one to arrive on the first day to try-out.

Day one is starting tomorrow; with proper diet and a LOT of fluids along with exercise, practicing Volleyball techniques! Seriously, I wanna lose weight and get in shape. I honestly can't stand sitting around and do nothing. I'm definitely not an athlete but I'm going to work hard for it.

I really can't wait for the tryouts. Wish me luck!

    Red face

I ate mozzarella sticks with grapes and water bottle... I feel satisfied, just not full so pretty much I'm doing okay so far... I think. I missed breakfast, oops. I'm a night person which makes everything worse because I gain weight and I don't sleep enough. I'm going to force myself to use up my energy while exercising and practicing Volleyball. Any tips based on Volleyball? Sure would like to know Going through caffeine withdrawal isn't fun but it's good for my body, drinking a lot of water... I'm just blabbing; I just wanted to let people know how I'm doing. Starting out is pretty much a lot harder than I thought it would be. I imagined myself last night, in volleyball gear, with kneepads, long knee socks, fitting clothes, and I'm thinking myself feeling thin and healthier. I got too excited last night and I couldn't help thinking my old friends' reaction to my weight loss... like, "OMG you lost weight, you look so different!!" something like that... and I couldn't help thinking all the clothes I wanted so bad -- I would definitely look good in it! Thinking and visualizing my own self image turned out to be so positive and with a lot of motivation! I used to feel negative about my self image but now, I don't know, I just feel too happy. I really can't wait but I know I have to be patient because losing weight will take a while.

Right now I'm a little down because I just had a fight with my boyfriend but at least I'm always trying to look at the bright side. I'm tired of feeling negative. I just had enough. It's my time now and I gotta do what's best for me. I'm definitely not going to give up just like I did a long time ago and then regretting it for giving up. I'm definitely not going to give up.

    Wish me luck :]

What are your tryin out for? Softball or volleyball? I thought in one post you said something about softball. My advice to you is to start gaining a base of strength, and get some gpp (general physical preparedness) into your routine. Once you have a base a strength and are in alittle better shape you can start training sport specific. Write down what you eat each day to see how many cals your getting. If you need anything feel free to pm.

Keep track of your diet for a few days so you get an idea on how you're eating. Then come up with a new diet plan to fit your goals. If you need help coming up with one, just pos tit here and I'm sure one of us can help.

It's alot of hit and miss with trying to become better. You'll go through alot of tough times and you might not reach your short term goal. But the strong fix their mistakes and move on, still eager to become better. The weak are the ones who quit and give up complaining "It's too hard." I don't know about you, but I don't want to be weak.

Do HIIT on the treadmill or where ever you run to help you lose weight. This should also help you become a little bit faster. Google that and come back here with your thoughts.

I'd also suggest lifting some weights. Doesn't have to be anything intense but maybe Starting Strength? It should get you a good foundational strength. Plus, it'll help you lose weight.

Also, really try to eat breakfast. Your body will thank you for it. Eating eggs, oatmeal, fruit are good choices. I highly suggest eating some of those for breakfast if you can, if not all of them.
"Giving your best is more important than being the best."

I train as an athlete, not a bodybuilder.

    REPS for SUBS.

I'm actually trying out for both but I decided to get into softball than volleyball... just found that volleyball isn't exactly for me but plan to try volleyball again next year. I need more practices.

I lost two pounds in a week... is that good?

And thanks federal for your help
