    Accutane joint pain

    My right shoulder has been bothering me for about 3 months. I've been on accutane for 4 months. I stopped working out about 1 month ago and my right shoulder and lower back still hurt. Could this be from accutane? How long till this goes away?

    I'm on 80mg a day, about halfway through my second month. I have not noticed any joint pain, although I crashed on my bike and hurt my shoulder and it might be taking longer than normal to stop hurting...

    It would be unusual for Accutane to cause muscle pain. Is it possible you tore/strained something in your last workout?

    If you do sense that the pain is from Accutane, you need to consult with yoru Dr. immediately, that is some potenet meds right there. (I was on it for a couple years
    )

    I took accutane for a long time. Soreness was part of the process. Whenever I told the doc about it he said it was normal and to man up. The last weeks were hell.

    OP it's up to you whether the pain is worth it. But feeling weak and sore is normal when on that stuff.

    I don't regret being on accutane one bit.
    Sure I was sore, lips/skin were awful, got nasty sunburn boil type things, etc. I'm happy with the tradeoffs

    Joint pain is a side effect, you knew about it when you signed all of the papers.
    My knees got REALLY BAD, but I've been done for 2 months now, and everything is/has been back to normal for a while now.

    I think you'll be fine OP
    (and if it's only your right shoulder, it might be something else, and the accutane is just making it worse)

    (and if it's only your right shoulder, it might be something else, and the accutane is just making it worse)
    ah crud...im not going to lift for a soild 2-3 months after im done with accutane( im not lifting now either).....maybe that rest period will help my shoulder recover. If it hurts after that ill get an MRI.

    That sounds like a really good idea actually.

    I lifted on and off while I was on accutane..
    But I took a break for a few months towards the end, back at it now, and everything is doing great.

    Granted I've only been on it for 2 1/2 months, but apart from a little reash on my elbow, I haven't had any bad side effects, I haven't quit working out or nothing.

    Low dose it. The reason most people get a lot of sides and joint pains are because the derms prescribe them a high ass dose. I've been on low dose of 20 and have been just fine as terms of all sides and the only thing I get is the occasional dry lips now. most people that claim they get depression on them is due to a pre-existing condition which is often exaggerated by the accutane due to some of them breaking out worse or generally looking like **** in the beginning

    I'm 5'6" and around 165 pounds. I've been on 60 mg a day for 4 months now and probably for another 2 months.

    Yes accutane does cause joint pain. It drys up your entire body. Drink as much water as you possibly can, take fish oil, and see if that helps matters.

    While I was on it I had some pain in my lower back and elbows which is absolutely normal. It was never enough to stop me from lifting though.

    If you do sense that the pain is from Accutane, you need to consult with yoru Dr. immediately, that is some potenet meds right there. (I was on it for a couple years
    )
    Hey Dr. Idiot, his joints are in pain, not his muscles. WTF were you doing on accutane for a couple years, dosages are supposed to be a few months-6 months.
