    bulking/cutting time frames..

hey guys..just wondering if there are minimums that should be followed?

Eg: would it work to clean bulk for 4 weeks and then cut for 1 week?

Or does it take the body a couple of weeks to get into a fat burning mode??

    Thanx guys

Nothing is set in stone. You can bulk for 4 weeks and cut for 1 week if you want.

For example, if you have a bulking diet 100 calories over maintenance for 28 days that would equal a 2800 calorie surplus. If you go on a cutting diet for 1 week with a 2800 calorie deficit, then you would even out mathmatically. Of course, things generally don't work out in a cookie cutter fashion like my example, but this would be the one style of thinking to go about your plan.

Note: Your plan is generally not the way I would go at it. I either add weight or lose weight for periods longer then 4 weeks.

yeh thats kool i understand..is there a sorta of optimal time frame for bulking or cutting? Or is it simply up to the individual and how they are feeling?

Depends on the individual and his/her objectives. It would be very difficult and restrictive to try and add a large amount of weight using the method mentioned , it could work , it would just be very complicated. If your goal is to add mass I would do so until you feel your bodyfat is becoming uncomfortable. Personally I go all by feel , I would rather clean bulk for 4-5 months and cut for 1-2 , rather then bulk for an extensive amount of time and have to cut for a very long time.

Absolutely 100% depends on the person. Bulking takes me a massive amount of time so I usually dedicated at least 4+ months to it whereas I can cut down in about 6 weeks. It's hard to give a definite answer on time frames.

Like SageFit said, it's completely dependent on the individual. I'm the complete opposite, I gain ridiculously fast but take more time to cut. Just experiment and go with what you feel is right.
