    Cornmeal can be used to make polenta, which I find equally delicious and can be used in recipes calling for hominy grits.

    Like the poster above me said, you can use cornmeal stirred into water to make a porridge similar to Grits. Of course season that up with some seasoned salt or salt and pepper. Add some butter or olive oil if you like for added richness, or some cheese. I love the stuff, tastes 1000 times better then oats.

    There is a company called usafoods they are in Melbourne they sell Grits just look usafoods online you will find them hope that helps out.
