Can you mix glutamine with protein shake?

They don't share the same muscle cell receptors as is commonly stated. Creatine has its own creatine-specific sodium-chloride dependant transporter - CreaT1. The only thing they share is that they are sodium dependant transporters. Plus the small intestines express an analagous transport system with the same affinity.

Hey man, many post workout shakes include glutamine and creatine together. They wont cancel each other out, you can use all three with no problems.

Not necessary at any age

I see glutamine as something that will help in recovery, very minimally, but will help. Not necessary by any means.
