    Exclamation Need to lose 20-30lbs...

    Hello,

I have a new years resolution to lose about 30lbs in 3 months.. not sure if this is possible but here is my statistics:

    Age: 23
    Height: 5'10
    Weight: 198lbs

I have adjusted my diet, consists of breakfast (300calories or so), and fruits/snacks through the day and a small lunch to push me over to dinner. I am trying to eat snacks every time i feel a bit hungry to keep my metabolism active/going.

I hit the gym 4 times a week, which consists of about 60minutes of cardio (total of 650cal burned) and about 20-30min of work-out to strengthen my legs/chest and abs to excel in cardio. Then I eat a protein heavy dinner and try to drink A LOT of water.

Included in this is once per day, a Centrium all in one vitamin pill.

Any suggestions or things I need to adjust?

    Thank you.

If this works for you over your given period of time, then there's nothing you'd need to adjust. 20-30lbs in 3 months is very doable if you stay on point.

However, I'd actually calculate your daily caloric intake and macronutrient ratios. I'd also get your metabolism tested (not "calculated", but actually get your BMR/RMR tested so you can adjust your diet based on your own body). That's just how I'd go about it differently.

Again, if what you are doing is producing the results that you desire, then by all means continue to do so. Ultimately that's the goal, right?

^^^ How do you go about getting your metabolism actually tested? is this something one could actually do themselves or is it something you need to have a doctor do for you?

I'd really love to know this too. There are calculators that I've used, but theres got to be a more accurate way.

If you keep to your schedule you should do fine. Just count the calories and work out hard.

I was exactly where you are now just 2 months ago. 5'10" and 192lbs. I'm now down to 162 as of yesterday. So it is very possible within your time frame.

I don't think you need to be tested. Do it for a week and if you lost 1-2lbs then just keep doing it. If you didn't lose 1-2lbs then adjust calorie intake or workout more.

It's all an experiment of one.

CyberGlitch, did you have any other adjustments to your plan?

How many days a week did you hit the cardio? and for how long? (do you know how many calories you burned off & intake?).

And I also would like to know how to get your metabolism tested?

My university fitness centers offer MetaCheck BMR testing for a modest fee. It might be worth asking at your local health club or perhaps your health care provider.

An update to my original post, I have found out that my MBR is 21%.

What I wanted to do is look into taking some supplements along with my goal and what I was looking to take is:

    Animal Pak

Does anyone suggest any cons/pros against it?

    Or any other suggestions?

I am in the same boat as you I want to loose about 20 lbs in 3 months. The thing is I do 30 min of cardio and then lift weights for the rest of the time. I use to drink heavily and by heavy i mean an 18 pack 3-4 times a week. I quit drinking which was step one and I hit the gym 4 times a week. I have heard about the animal pack and was wondering the same thing. At the same time I think I am in a good place to put on mass. Like most people my age I cary most of my weight in my belly region. Right now I weight 174 ( I weighed my self when I left the gym and the scale said 171) and would like to get down to about 150-155 which would be good for my height (5'-7")

exooid, i have tried animal cuts and just wanted to give you some info. At the time i didnt really hit the gym hard as far as doin my lifting but the cuts showed some weird side effects such as sleeplessness, jitters, and just some weird feelings. i guess it was the overload of caffeine or something. But it did keep my weight down, so i would say with a good diet, and training animal cuts/paks would work good
    hope this helps some

hmmm right now I am using amplified muscle igniter 4x from GNC. At first I had jitters and some of the side effects you talked about but they went away after a couple of days. I have read some of the reviews about lipo 6 and it seams to be a great product for weight loss. I just wish people would be real and not think they can take a supplement sit on the couch and eat 3 bags of chips and loose weight. It just doesn't happen that way.

Animal Cuts didn't work for me, then again I only tried them for a week because they were making my heart feel incredibly weird, and I wasn't gonna risk a hole in my heart to look good.

REDuction, another fat burner, is also a complete failure.

I'll just say that the only thing that works is diet and exercise.

Fat burners just tend to be BS
