    cooking steel cut oats?

well i bought some SC oats yesterday when i went shopping instead of instant oats. when i cook the sc oats this morning it took me damn near 20 min and they were still kinda hard and were really thick like i cook instant were you can put a sppoon in it and it'll stick their.

how do you cook sc oats so they come out nice n thick and not hard...or are they like that?

people usually leave it over night..... thats why I don't like sc oats.... they do take too long
to make. I dont think 20 minutes is enough.

idk if they do any1 else but even with me makin em not to thick, they fill u up big time. its been 3 hours n im not hungry n im usually always hungry.

i read if you mic them it takes 20 min but you use 2 cups of water n i used about 3/4 cup lol.

any1 else got a method they use to mic their sc oats and get em thick?

I cook steel cut oats in a rice cooker using the porridge setting. You just dump in the water and oats push start, and you are done. Seriously, I spend no more than 1-2 minutes both on set-up and clean-up. Mine has a timer so I set it up the night before and it's ready in the morning.
