Usually on the news states the biggest crime. Burglary requires no force whatsoever. If he got 15 years for simply breaking an entry then it just isnt morally right.
Its people like you who don't question the judges decisions that make the law so bad. The law is so messed up you need to think about this.

Do you care about your house? If someone kicked your door in right now you'd be ok with it? Just give him a few years, and the world will be a happy place. If someone kicks my door in and steals from me I would certainly hope they get a serious prison sentence. Why is the law bad in this case? Because it stands up for the victims and the greater good of the community?
Like it was said, if those people were home things could have gotten a lot worse. Plus the guy is implicated in two other cases. You don't go around a neighborhood breaking into houses without some serious consequences. It's a shame nobody shot them.

Ever see that show on Discovery "It Take a Thief". People on that show freak out, start crying, get crazy angry, and have all sorts of problems. That is in a completely controlled environment that they chose to participate in. Crimes like this are just as a bad as a violent crime because there is real damage done to the victims. It's not just them losing a few things they can replace.

oh lawd I have an idea where this is going
Care to expand?
For the record, I'm glad he got it and I wish it had been the maximum of 20. I don't give a damn to see people get off light, and I sure as hell don't feel sorry for someone who would break down someone's door and burglarize their home. I feel much better off with this guy behind bars for a very long time.
And to all the misc kids who think it was too strong of a punishment; like someone said above, don't break into houses and it won't happen to you.
