    Thumbs down Winter weight gain?

    I swear to god like clock work every january I put on weight. Any one have any ideas why? My diet and workout routines don't drastically go up...
    I honestly feel like my body is cold and trying to stay warm.

    Well you did the refeed? You probably needed to keep your calories up longer because from what I have read, if you are undereatting and then you start to boost your calories your body holds on for about a week to make sure your going to keep feeding it, if so it lets go, if not , it stores.

    a week after refeed and i am up in weight. feeling larger in general. i feel just terrible. i am not over eating. i am tracking everything. sitting around 16-1800 cals a day..

    srsly this is like clockwork. every winter i gain like 10 lbs. i dont do the holiday binge eat thing.. im really good for not going nuts on naughty food. when i over eat, its on things like brocolli..

    This. We are simply less active when it's cold outside. I know I spend most nights curling up on the couch with a blanket. I'll take public transporation or a taxi instead of walking. I order more groceries instead of walking to the grocery store. I'll sit at my desk during lunch instead of getting outside and walking around for a while. If I do go outside, I don't go far. I do whatever I can to avoid the cold. Not to mention that sometimes staying in bed is waaay more appealing than hitting the gym first thing in the morning when it's freezing outside, so it happens more often.

    This^^ the days or much shorter..I know I spend more time in front of the computer in the winter. One thing that helps me is getting up earlier for some reason...I think it offsets the hibernation mode that I go into. Even my dogs gain weight in the winter.
