    Torn Labrum Question

Ok, I tore my Lambrum in September and got surgery on September 11th and now it is January 4th. It has been 4 months and i have been doing physical therapy and feel fine. My shoulder feels normal and it healed properly and at physical therapy i do the same exercises EVERYTIME it gets old and boring fast. I started working out again and benching, Deadlifting everything i normally do. Is my shoulder going to tear again under normal circumstances of lifting has anyone else done this and been fine?

Ok rehab does get redundent but try asking your PT for some new exercises or if you can try something new. What was your mechanism of injury? if the labrum is completely healed you shouldn't have problems doing things that you did prior and thats not saying you won't the labrum repair (not knocking the doc) may not be as strong as your original labrum. Check with your doc to make sure that you are able to do these exercises. Most labrum tears are due to a shoulder disloctions or excessive strain on the shoulder in a not-so-fun direction.

I had an operation on a SLAP 1 debridement 9 weeks ago. Basically a Labrum tear which only needs trimming and no anchors putting in so a mild one. Id say if your PT said you are ready to do them lifts then do them. Otherwise id avoid them especially Bench Press. Your Labrum should be healed now as i believed it takes around 8-10 weeks for it to completely re-attach to the bone.

Did you have anchors put in?
