My nuclear engineering professor always told me that if you see a nuclear bomb detonating within a visible distance, via ground, you should head towards it, as to hopefuly die from the blast, because the ensuing effects of the radiation poisoning you will recieve otherwise will be horrible. The worst one is, if you get a semi-high dose something like 10000 rads, you will basically live normally for 60-90 days until your current organ linings slosh off and you fall apart from the inside out, fun huh.

yeah fuk that lol id take my chances heading in the opposite direction.
Well all electronics would be out, so id gather up the immediate family, head to a grocery store immediately, ransack some shiit and gtfo out of town.
Sounds great in theory, sure it wouldnt b that easy. Hell your cars electronics might be fried from the EMP so who knows if that would even work

That or you could basically have most of the cells in your body burst and die a slow painful death, lol. I think the fastest anybody has ever died from radiation poisoning was an operator working in a lab. They were running something like a 1500 Mw bwr (boiling water reactor) and the plutonium exploded. 2 guys died instantly while the third recieved like a 150000 rad dose, he saw the radiation in his eyes called charankov, err something like that, which is a result of electrons traveling greater than the speed of light in water slowing down and releasing a gamma ray. Anywho, at that point he knew he was gonna die, so he checked himself into a hospital and told them to study the effects, he died like 3 days later.
