srsly though I saw it, they messed it up because apparently the first season sucked but I didnt think so. They didnt show the 2nd season here.

I'd let the radiation hit me. It's a proven scientific fact that radiation causes super powers. Just imagine if I could shape shift into a miscasaurus, shoot misc rays outta my eyes, or have super misc strength.

Out and about:
Hide behind the nearest brick wall, lay face down, put my hands over my head, close my eyes, and open up my mouth until the blast wave passed. Then, high tail it as far fromt the ground zero as possible to get away from the fallout. It's not fool proof, but it would give me a fighting chance.

At home:
I'm far enough, that even fallout shouldn't be an issue if DC is bombed. I'll just hunker down at the house. I don't really need to stock up on anything. I have a weeks worth of emergency water. And enough provisions to last a week with rationing. At that point, if order isn't restored, it's on to scavaging and hunting.

There was a documentary I watched about the nuclear bombings on Japan in WWII that explained how the people were poisoned. The bomb went off and took out everything and everyone within a certain radius and the ones that were "fortunate" to live became so dehydrated and thirsty that they begged for water. It began to rain a black liquid so they drank it, but they didn't know it was highly radioactive. They also rushed to a water source to get in it and drowned those that got in it first. The skin sloshed off their bodies, bled constantly without being able to stop, and had their organs cooked from inside out. **** that.

True, but as long as you see the flash; you get a dose of radiation with it. The initial wave caries a very high dose of radiation. Radiation will kill you slowly. The blast wave will be painless but deadly.

Pilots of the enola gay lived. you only need something like like a cm or two of lead to halve the penetration of gamma radiation, and like 10 cm of regular dirt to do the same. An atomic bomb doesn't exactly turn people into dust no matter what.

Then attempt to take family east over the mountains into the country, if not possible, hang out near the bath tub to avoid radiation.
