Ive trained for about 3 years only ever drinking a protein shake a day until a few months ago when I stepped up my diet properly.
Someone at the gym recommended BCAAs, in particular Scivation Xtend. Are they worth the extra daily cost?
Also, any other recommendactions? (UK)

It depends on how you are planning on using them in all honesty. If you aren't using them correctly it pretty much just becomes flavored water.

If you are training fasted I would definitely suggest them. However if you are eating a solid pre and post work out meal, and not working out for 3 hours intensely, I wouldn't really suggest them.

When your body is in a fasted state is when they are the most beneficial. They can be very useful when you have a calorie deficit, but if you're eating a meal 60 minutes before you lift, lift for 45-60 mins and then go home and eat a post work out meal then you won't be getting anything out of the BCAAs.

When I am cutting weight and at a huge calorie deficit I defiantly think the help. Also when I do cardio and train immediately after they are great. It is a basic supplement that I believe have helped me push when I am not getting enough food.
