Not so much genetic but that area in particular is lacking in muscle.

EDIT - marked B in the pic.

Please explain then how the guy in the bodyspace I linked could build muscle in between the space from left to right abs.

    Contradicting yourself much?

The dude does have a huge gap between his abs. I wasn't actually disagreeing with your last post, I merely stated it's not so much down to genes but the lack of muscle in that area. I guess genes may determine how much space there actually is, dunno.

I know that if you increase the size of your waist/gut the connecting tissue between your abs will widen and the separation will grow (see Ronnie on his earlier years vs his GH gut years). I don't know how you can obtain the opposite effect though. Get new parents perhaps?

Absolutely no contradiction whatsoever. I posted the bodyspace showing that much muscle can still have a fairly wide gap.

Below is no space. And if that is as much muscle as the bodyspace I linked then I guess my vision is going bad at an early age.

Exactly. I was asking the question to point out that there is obviously not a way to do it.

We aren't actually talking about the muscle here! Yes the dude has huge abs but yet there is a space right? We both agree on this right?

Now let's focus on the area that doesn't have muscle because that's the area the OP is actually talking about. The part that separates the right rectus abdominus from the left rectus abdominus. The reason why there is a gap is due to the fact that there is no muscle there. Now how wide this gap may be is probably down to genetics but nevertheless there will always be a gap. Which is what you were saying in your first post correct?

So like I said, it is determined by genes. Is is "so much" genetic. You might be able to make the space marginally smaller. When it boils down, though, the size of the gap is dependent on the genes of the individual.

My posts are not to start an argument, but rather a way for OP to see that the gap will not disappear so he doesn't get a false hope.

Thank you for the discussion though, honestly. Repped.

There are no exercises to make that part smaller. It cannot be changed via exercise.

well size is a comparison.it will look smaller if things around it are larger.
so since you weight 140 get really big abs and i image the gap will then appear smaller.
Eat for what you are about to do, not for what you have already done.

if i don't know how to cut ,why would i be bold enough to bulk?

'Failure' isn't a requirement for growth, but progression is.

another thing to keep in mind is that it will get a lot more pronounced the lower body fat you have.
