Taking pre workout supp before running

I was wondering if there is anything negative that could arise from taking a pre-workout supplement before going for a run? Sometimes I feel really sluggish and lazy so I take a half serving of my pre w/o supp (VasoCharge) to get myself going for a run. I also notice I can run longer but I am wondering if I might not be getting the benefits of running that someone would get without taking the supplement before hand.

Does anyone have any input or does anyone else take a pre w/o before doing cardio?

I don't see the point. But then again I don't take PWO's anyway. Your heart rate is already going to be high during running, I don't see the point of placing unnecessary stress on your cardiovascular system.

Thanks for your opinion, that is a really good point, but you should try a Pre w/o and then you'd better understand the position that I'm coming from about taking a Pre w/o for some energy before a run.

Have you had pretty steady progress with being able to increase the intensity over time? Also, when was the last time you did cardio without the supp?

pre-WO can be good to get you focused, but i would use them responsibly, as the poster before said that it elevates your heart rate on top of cardio. most of the time i take a product containing 1,3 dimeth before swimming/running.

1 tablet of Hemodrene is the perfect amount of stim for me pre-run. I have noticed that I really like products that have geranium oil in them. I do long ass runs so I have to be careful about crashing and Hemodrene hasn't failed me yet. I've found pump products give me shin splints if I run for longer than half an hour or so.

If you need something to get you focused and some more energy you could just go with some caffeine instead of a pre-workout supplement. Caffeine can simply raise your energy...

As already said, there's no need to put extra stress to you cardiovascular system!
