6/17/10 Max Philisaire's Armor Plated Chest Routine + More
Chest/Abs
Hours of Sleep: 4
Workout Duration: NA
Calories Consumed: (update) Protein: g Carbs: g Fats: g
Warmup: Pushups (30-45 second rest between sets):
Close-Grip Pushups: 10 reps
Normal-Grip Pushups: 10 reps
Wide-grip-Grip Pushups: 10 reps
Incline DB Bench (45 Degree Incline) (45 second - 1 min rest between sets):
[b]Working Sets: 4x10/b]
45s (10 reps) [B]
50s (10 reps)
50s (10 reps)
50s (10 reps)
Short rest period + no ego lifting.
Flat BB Press: 2x10, 2x8 (1 Min - 90 second rest between sets)
95 lbs (10 reps) This felt slightly heavy (srs). DONT LOCK OUT.
105 lbs (10 reps) Struggled on last few reps (srs).
115 lbs (8 reps) Crazy pump started to kick in.
135 lbs (8 reps) Actually needed 2 help reps (srs).
Not locking out and short rest definitely killed the strength. On top of not sleeping well and lifting 4 consecutive days in a row...but WOW I was feeling this.
Cybex Machine Incline Flyes/Press Variation: 3x10 (60 - 90 sec rest between sets)
70 lbs (7 flye reps, 3 press reps) INSANE! Loved this exercise.
70 lbs (5 flye reps, 5 press reps) Strength starting to suffer, starting to see signs of fatigue
70 lbs (5 flye reps, 2 press reps) Fatigue was really killing me.
Added to the pump A LOT.
Cable Flyes/Crossovers: From the Top (Highest Setting): 3x12 (30-45 sec rest between sets)
30 lbs (12 reps) Finally figured out proper form (in the vid).
40 lbs (12 reps) Feelsgoodman.
50 lbs (8 full reps, 2 half reps) Fatigue was killing the entire chest.
Cable Flyes/Crossovers: From the Bottom (Lowest Setting): 3x12 (30-45 sec rest between sets)
20 lbs (12 reps) Figured out proper form on these too (in the vid).
30 lbs (12 reps) Upper chest felt it hard.
40 lbs (8.5 reps) Strength was dropping.
END OF MAX'S WORKOUT. FOLLOW IT VERBATIM THE WAY HE DOES IN THE VID, LEAVE THE EGO AT THE DOOR! Everything else after this was my own thing.
Weighted Dips: 3xFailure (No lockout, 45 - 60 sec rest between sets)
BW +25 lbs (6 reps) No lockout, all the way down.
BW (9 reps) Fatigue was in full gear.
Going deep but not locking out felt very good.
Fascia Stretch:
Reverse Delt Fly Machine Hold:
30 lbsx25 seconds
Parallel Bar Hold: 45 seconds
Abs: Windshield wipers, ab machine variation (crunch + bring legs up to chest)
Song:
Video:
The skepticism I had going in to the workout was very strong. Dude's chest is big but his numbers weren't impressive, so I figured it was genetics. I was wrong. Best chest workout I have EVER had, can't wait to do it again. EVERYONE needs to try this at least once. Don't be discouraged if you can't press as much weight, if your chest looks like Max's, you should be throwing up these numbers on his routine:

lulz @ this: http://www.urbandictionary.com/defin...t%20University
interesting about Bentley, I applied their but didn't get in. Very glad I didn't because life would've sucked. A lot more expensive/competitive/smaller/overall just worse lol (no hate but just being real)....Bryant destroys it lol @ Bentley haters
It was about 30 minutes overall (srs). BYB is only 5 sets of chest 5 days a week for 3 weeks. i got very good results last time but since im in a deficit im going to wait until i finish bulkingLast edited by xKyle10; 06-18-2010 at 11:57 PM.

urban dictionary always provides the lulz. I'm going to John Brown University in Arkansas. http://www.jbu.edu its a small Christian school with around 2,000 kids. Tiny to most people's standards.. But I went to a high school that had less than 100 students. My graduating class had 25 kids. So it's big to me haha.
but really only 30 min? seems like it would take longer. looks solid though. i wonder if that BYB would work if applied to other lifts. My squat is beyond patheticly pathetic. My Log (Power/Hypertrophy) - Stop by for reps!

and yeah. 25 kids. and more or less I was with those same kids since the third grade... talk about hell man.My Log (Power/Hypertrophy) - Stop by for reps!

most likely what ill do, too much of a commitment right now. ill probably start up a serious lifting/bbing club/team there though too so that should be fun. indeed boston people are dicks, hence the name m@ssholes, most people cant drive, but for the most part i love it there.

Haha holy **** that's a crazy chest workout. I think it would work well for you especially since you are getting some blood in your chest before pressing movements to increase the mind to muscle connection. I'm sure you found yourself pushing more with your chest this time rather than your shoudlers/arms.
