Jamie truly is an awesome guy who unlike most internet 'gurus' actually has the physique and strength to back up his methods. And he's genuinely happy to help if you have questions regarding training and nutrition. I like lots of others were stuck in the bodypart split rut and since using his training methods around 4 months ago i haven't been leaner or stronger.

His advice for beginners in that article are spot on but as usual i doubt whether any will follow it due to the lack of curls and isolation etc etc.
Overall a good read, solidifying the wealth of information in his blog.

Great interview. Full of lulz. And C+P has a great philosophy. This one cracked me up

"Mentzer and the HIT Jedi clearly hate training, and it shows. He was a fat crackhead and dropped dead at an early age, possibly due to an allergic reaction to the sweatsuits he wore in every pic I?ve seen of him."

    Thats going on the sig.

Cracked up on this one too

"He's [Joe Weider] led millions of lifters astray for years, and the damage that he?s done to strength sports, and the gym industry in particular, is irreperable. I hope he gets cancer of the aids, bleeds out of his ****ing eyes, and his offspring are covered in boils."
"Be like water making its way through cracks. Do not be assertive, but adjust to the object, and you shall find a way round or through it. If nothing within you stays rigid, outward things will disclose themselves…" - Dao de Ching

The biggest secret in life is not that we go through life discovering ourselves but that we go through life creating our selves. Think about that.

Great article, regarding his advice for training beginners what set/rep scheme would you recommend? I've read his blog and he is clearly a fan of 1-3 reps so would something like 5x3 on the lifts be good and then high rep on the bodyweight exercises?

yes, but if you read further he also discusses how a beginner shouldn't train at lower reps like that, at least not if they are a true green beginner, but you would do best to shoot him an email and ask him yourself

    Great interview.

But I think he already posted a template on his blog, so a how-to might be redundant. Good work nonetheless.

I don't mean to get into a flame war, but grim, I remember a post about 4 months ago that was regarding the Chaos and Pain program, and I remember you saying It would lead to overtraining. Have you changed your mind now?

I dont recall this, mainly because i didn't really become aware of the style until recently, but its possible i did say it, and yes some of my opinions have changed, you have to remember this is a constant learning experience, if you stop learning you will stop improving, and i have changed my opinion on some things over the last year or so, texass has probably noticed this lol

He is trying to educate people about their work capacity - it can be increased just like strength can. Sure, for someone who is used to 3 days a week on a relatively low volume program, to jump to 6 days a week is going to beat them down. But you can work up to it just like he has.

Not only that, but if you are using something like the bear on light days then its more like an active recovery session anyway
