Compared to other sports bodybuilding may be one of if not the hardest sport. I played soccer for 10 years and also played other sports growing up but none of them ever challenged me like bodybuilding has, it takes someone who is mentally strong and can push through pain, everyday is a new chellenge. Despite the meat head image everyone associates with the sport it takes someone who can look at their body and shape it in the gym then go home and follow a diet to meet macros and fuel their body, that seems like it takes a little intellegence to me ?

Don't let work be an excuse not to be healthy. And don't let the gym be an excuse to not have a few extra bucks to splurge on muscle building stacks!

Help please by PM-ing me if you can, I really want a GF by time I graduate college!
Does anyone know how to make this work? I want a girlfriend by May if possible and if not, then to just feel better about myself. I have been in pursuit of a sixpack my whole life and I am still unable to achieve it.
I am gonna try a preworkout formula for called 'Afterburn Fuel' (Mike Chang) what do you guys think of it?
Also I can't take in less calories than I burn, because I am already TOO THIN! I am 6'3" and only 170 it's disgusting! I have some stubborn belly fat that I can't get a six-pack because of! (See my profile picture, that was 3 years ago and I still look the same! And I do crunches everyday!) Please help me out, I want to gain/maintain weight and muscle size but get a nice midsection of abs! I want to bulk up my muscles but not put on fat, as I want my six pack to show, I know i have one because my abdominal muscles are strong, but they are not visible.
THANKS!

Awesome Thread. Some great, inspiring reads. If you could melt it all together you'd have it all. Ill sprinkle my rambling in with it.
Visualizing is definitely major. If you cant believe in something enough to be able to visualize it, you wont stick with it. You're just fooling yourself. Arnold used to picture his Biceps filling the entire gym on curls.
Once you can believe in it, then the motivation will be there. but to maintain motivation you have to set trackable goals to keep you excited. "i want .5 inch on my bicep by xx date." instead of "i want bigger arms". even if you dont hit it, you have something youre reaching for that is measurable.
Dedicaton is easy once you find out why you really want to do it. believing in what youre doing again improves on this. I want to workout so this girl will like me. well now she has a new bf and it aint you, now what? No, what you're missing is the underlying that you really just want to feel better about yourself and improve your self confidence, etc. Be the beast you visualize. This journey is entirely too demanding to do it for anyone but you. Attributing factors can be your significant other, your children, etc. But you have to want it for you. cause thats who's there in the mirror when you try that one last rep, or pick up that extra 5lbs.
Self Development: research, understanding, being judgemental of information people put out there. not saying "hey thats dumb", judgemental as in thinking to yourself, does that make enough sense for me to try? A lot of this game is trial and error, and you need to have the mindset to be able to analyze if its worth trying, and then once you try is, is it worth making part of your routine. Fortunately we have an exponential amount of great minds that did a lot of the trial for us. But discovery is never done. Arnold was and will forever be one of the all time greats because he was not only able to push himself to unbelievable physical limits, but was also a student of the game. Always ask "why?" and "is there a better way?". Being the best starts with never being content.
Is it easy? Hell-to-the-no and ive only been "lifting" for 10 years. I use quotes because i didnt start really learning and applying till about 2 years ago. Nothing worthwhile is though. Is it harder than other professional sports? I dont pretend to know because i havent tried them all. You cant rely on others for success in this business. They can give you all the tools in the world, preach all sorts of motivation. But you get yourself under the bar, you tell yourself "one more" because the workout called for 4 sets, but you know you have another in you. You look at yourself in the mirror knowing if you stuck to your routine, if you had that extra cheat when no one was looking. I cant tell you what its like to win anything in bodybuilding, so i dont have that feeling to look on. but i know what its like to be better than i was yesterday and thats all i need, and all anyone can ever ask of you.Kai Greene; Carnivore Protein
