Gonna start MA !
Hi everyone, after being on this forum for several years, I'm gonna start Martial Arts, I will explore Budokai Do, and Ronin (MMA) to make up a best choise...
A quick question, when just training in the dojo of a private fighting club, do they give you a hard time as a newbie? as you see I don't want to get punched by guys that punch for a living in training all the time.
Thanks, and martial art greetings!

Good on luck on starting martial arts, I am sure you will find great benefits to it. I have been praticing martial arts for some time and it gave me great results mental and physical. As far as your questions, it is not easy to be new in a group, unfortunately, there is always someone in a group that will be annoying and will try to make a point. But, I would say if you go somewhere and there is that kind of problems where people will give you a hard time and be violent to you. I would say it is the wrong place to train, the first thing you learn in a dojo is respect of instructors, seniors and the other people you train with. If they don't apply that kind of respect, then they don't respect martial arts. I would say try and see how you like and see if you feel comfortable there.
Good luck

Any decent training school/club should treat everyone the same. If they have some "beat up the new guy" mentality, then it's time to find someplace new! Good instructors/training partners will let you work to your abilities, and push you when needed, but they shouldn't drive you over a cliff way beyond your skills.

I'm guessing most members of MA gyms are pretty nice, I'm saying this because it's near impossible to keep up a big ego if your a beginner. No way will you stay on badass mode when a smaller guy is manhandling and making your badass tap out. There's always the exception but also don't forget the teachers/coaches are always on alert, your paying them and they know that so they'll keep you comfortable.

Did my first Budokaido class, and I'm sold... it's great, I can't feel my legs, but thats cool, I sat on the side for a while after getting a shot in my plexus though.
