    Football Variation on Treadmill?

    Was just thinking of this

would it be beneficial to do sprints on a treadmill, but instead of doing a running motion, have both hands placed on the machine as if you were pushing it? and then using a flat back, and just running at a maximal speed (almost to emulate pushing someone on the line) and do this for variations of shorts amounts of time?

top of my head i cant see that being healthy for the treadmill. but i guess it might be something to mix up the trainer. treadmills can get expensive though if this drill does break em.

And how would flat ground not suffice for this? hold something like a book with your thumbs up as they are supposed to be when blocking, use proper form and sprint short distances, simple enough.

that's stupid. you legs aren't forcing the treadmill to move, like a TredSled, you legs HAVE to move if you don't want to fall of the teadmill. If you can find a TredSled where you type in the resistance you want and you have to apply force to it then yes.

Best you can do is push a sled or prowler of some sort.

really, if you want to translate your gym strength to the field i think the best way is strongman training, but why would you want to do that at this time of the year? worry about that in july

you could probably do this with a treadmill that isn't turned on. but you can't adjust resistance and you'll probably break it.

there's a gym by me that has a tredsled, but apparently you can't use it unless you're with a personal trainer. guess i won't be joining that gym.

This. Do a program like WS4SB3 until Spring or something. You could also use a fourwheeler too (I have done this).
