Why is selective breeding of animals alright but not selective breeding of humans? With humans, we consider it racist, so is selective breeding of animals really ethical, or should it be banned as well?

I'm pretty sure selective breeding of humans would only be racist if one of the qualifications for breeding was race.
Frankly I don't see a problem with it if the criteria were things like intelligence, agression ect. but I doubt you'll ever see it happen. Most of the times when people in power support an idea such as this it usually has an ethnic backing behind it or something like that.
Anyways, to be effective at really changing the traits of humans it would take several generations of selective breeding. Before then hopefully we should be able to geneticly modify people, making the whole thing moot. All of this has been posted before, and all of this will be posted again.

Animals and humans are in completely different ballparks as far as morality goes. Animals have no civil liberties, therefore selective breeding does not infringe upon them. Humans, on the other hand, are a different story. Honestly, I believe it is silly to compare animals and humans in this way. It's apples and oranges.
