Why would you do a split program for size, stick to fullbody/5x5 stuff guys.
You should all know it's not the way to gain mass when beginning, no matter what you think.

What is it with these split programs? Honestly, for size.

Thats good progress but you didn't say that. You said everyone should be doing full body routines as they are best for size. You didn't say in my oppinion I got the best results this way.
"You should all know it's not the way to gain mass when beginning, no matter what you think."
I started at 132 lbs. I have made the majority of my gains using split, high volume instinctive training. How do you explain that?
Different things work for different people. I know alot of people on here think 5x5 ripptoes and stronglifts programmes are amazing. When your a begginner though you will make noob gains on pretty much any programme. Just cause you happened to be doing mark ripptoes programme at the time it doesn't mean everyone else should be.

Stop back paddling. You and him and both in agreement that everyone should know you make the best gains on full body routines. He defended you by saying this:
"Atleast he knows how to train, I know this seems pathetic me saying this. but honestly. I cannot stand it, I used to be the same and now I just think. God damn, people are stupid."
You two are basicaly saying theres one way to train and everyone else is stupid. Yet your both beginners. :S

You basically explained it for me.
Any programme will help gains when you start, so it doesn't really matter what you do, but if you do 5x5 you will end up stronger than if you start with a split. Hence 5x5.
It's my opinion and I think about 80% of this website believe 5x5 and diet is the best way to gain mass and strength."Using no way as a way, using no limitations as a limitation." - Bruce Lee

More strength is more muscle if I'm not wrong? Compound exercises release the most hormones and also recruit the most muscle fibers. So why do a split routine and have an ARM DAY?! I guess split routines do have their advantages as they are not as taxing to the body. Both have their advantages, but I would opt for full body routines. I'm not calling anyone "stupid" for doing splits as I used to do them anyway. I don't consider what I used to do stupid or anyone else who trains with splits. But, I have made MUCH bigger gains on full bodies as I'm hitting the big 3 and other big movements a lot more often.

*massive sigh* madcows isnt for a beginner its a strength routine for someone whos been strength lifting a long time. If a newbie went on madcows they would gain strength at a very slow rate compared to what they could gain on rippetoes.
Secondly I disagree That these workouts are the best for gaining size. Best for gaining strength yes, size no.
The past year I have done rippetoes and BFS and stronglifts. I;ve gained over 30lbs in weight but its not as aesthetically pleasing compared to if i'd lifted on a more bodybuilding split. the vast majority of the weight has gone onto my legs and back. (I gained roughly an inch on my arms in this whole time)
Just because you enjoy doing strength programs and 5x5 and read some ofthe more experienced posters telling newbies "rippetoes now or negz" dont go preaching that they are Gods given gift to the planet trying to get reps.

Yeah. Sure, arm days will build you strength within your arms so you will have a better curl than someone who does full bodies, most probably. But size wize.. I don't know about that. Also, who gives a FU/CK about what you can curl. Oh except for the people who don't squat/dead etc

Its not as simple as that but kinda. Compound movements don't release a notable amount of gh or test to make a difference in your physique. Its not true that squats release a ton of gh.
An arm day is useful if you want big arms and strong arms. I do heavy barbell curls increasing the weight or reps each week. Helps my barbell rows alot. Same as doing overhead tricep extensions. Helps up my overhead press. If you want big arms, work them, don't have to do it on a separate day but dont jump on the no isolation, arms get worked from rows and bench press's bandwagon. I did it once and learned pretty fast thats not the way to go if you want some impressive arms.
