    This is the official thread of the Misc Anxiety Crew. I'm founding this Crew because I've discovered there are a lot of Miscers like myself suffering from various forms of anxiety and depression. This thread is serious, do your trolling elsewhere. Hopefully there will be a lot of Miscers sharing deep and personal things, so be mature and keep your harsh words and judgments to yourself. If you're not suffering from anxiety or depression, you won't understand it, and a lot of the things you read here won't be logical to you. Please, just understand that anxiety and depression are serious disorders.

    If you're suffering from

    -Generalized Anxiety Disorder
    -Hypochondriasis
    -Panic Disorder
    -Phobia
    -Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
    -Social Anxiety Disorder
    -Separation Anxiety Disorder
    -Post-traumatic Stress Disorder
    -Depression
    -Bipolar Disorder

    then this is the crew for you. Even if you're not fully suffering or diagnosed, but you feel anxious/depressed at times, you're welcome here. Everyone is welcome.

    in. Been on Zoloft for 17 days. 50mg a day. Don't feel any different yet but the doc say it takes at least 4 weeks to work.

    I have Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Panic Disorder, Hypochondriasis (which could fall under the GAD umbrella), and depression. I'm supposed to be on Zoloft (well sertraline, the generic) but I don't like how it makes me feel.

    You should feel it kick in in another week or so.

    Every time you feel an episode come on you should start typing up the book or scanning it in. Then send to us lol. But in seriousness I think I'll check it out when I hit the library tomorrow, well I guess today in a few hours

    Umm I just ordered it off amazon...bout 10 bucks. I found it from this forum/website called www.panicend.com

    Alot people there recommended

    You guys should check out that forum for anxiety. Also another one I go to is anxietyzone.com

    They have abunch of subforums that relate specifically to different types of anxiety...I visit the Hypochondriacs forum quite a bit...under the name of AnxiousMatt

    From reading some of your earlier posts I think I suffered from similar symptoms to you. I would always think that I was about to have a heart attack and I had this irrational fear that I would pass out before I was able to get help.

    My fear is heart attacks also but it's not the fear of dying, it's the fear of actually going through the experience of a heart attack

    Yeah brah, ive come to find I have a few things going on...mainly an arrythmia called SupraVentricular Tachycardia which is not life threatening, but can in fact be caused by extreme stress or anxiety, and also stimulants for that matter. So basically my anxiety over my health is making my health bad lolz

    Ill get into that more in my journal how it all came about

    I've recommended these before but if anyone hasn't heard of them they are worth a look

    "The Happiness Trap" by Russ Harris - My psychologist recommended this one, more for all sorts of problems but has helped many people overcome stress/anxiety. It's based on ACT (acceptance and commitment therapy).

    "In stillness conquer fear" - My grandfather gave me this book a week ago to read, he used to suffer from panic attacks and anxiety. I really like this book, i'm following the method from it and can't wait to see how i go. It's all about stillness meditation. Very well worth the read!

    Oh yeah, count me in on this crew.

    as far as medication goes, i got given ***** when i first raised the issue with my doctor. Only took it for a month tops though, trying to beat this without meds.

    Yeah in for this! i also have anxiety feels bad man but sometimes i can deal with it tho i dont wanna get prescribed cuz im gonna start depending on them so ill just deal with it naturally

    I tried to do it med free.. It was really hard for me. Doesn't mean you can't do it though.

    I figured even if for the rest of my life I'm going to be on anti-depressants, at least I will be happy.

    Thanks man. Yeah I have these ******s for emergencies - middle of the night panic attacks, etc. I'm taking them at a rate of about 1 every 3 days now. If that's what I have to do for the rest of my life, it's a small price to pay.
