    Does Taco Bell still use grade E meat?

    I remember TAco Bell using the worst quality meat years ago. Is it still the case? Or have they improved the quality of meat they use?

    Meh... First time I had tacobell was a few months ago.. Wasn't really any good but I have no other choice cos they are only ones on my campus open till 11pm and I usully take my last meal there..

    they dont use letters to grade meat, it all has to be usda inspected, so i doubt the meat can be that bad..

E is any animal over 8 years. Basically, grade D and E cattle are used-up milk cattle. It's thoroughly possible they'd use this beef in their products; there's absolutely nothing wrong with it and all that time on the hoof would give it lots of good flavor. The odds of them using it are very low, though, because there's just not that much of it. Most beef in America is slaughtered before the animal reaches 30 months, so you can figure most of Taco Bell's meat is going to be A grade.

    The grade I suspect Taco Bell uses is called "standard-minus." It's good meat. It's "almost devoid" of marbling--flecks of fat through the meat--because the less marbling they have in the meat, the less grease they have to figure out how to get rid of. Besides, almost all Taco Bell meat is ground beef anyway; what would they care about marbling?

    no marbleing? Ground beef is made with the meat that has marbling. Ground beef is made from the fatty pieces of meat that would be cut out from more expensive meat. All put together and then processed. How can groudn beef have no am marbleing when the very definition of ground beef is that its made with leftover meat.

    the beef in it is poured into the container after it's heated and it's kept hot and served...

    so no one really knows how the meat is process. Just by taking some, and squishing it with my hand, it doesn't look too good...

    wtf kind of ground beef do you eat? You're thinking of something else. A type of "bits and pieces" meat product.

    Ground beef is typically a ground piece of meat, the cut and other characteristics of the meat determines the fat content. I usually get 93/7 ground chuck or ground round. Those are good cuts of meat to use for ground beef. Your "definition" of ground beef is definitely NOT what people talk about when they talk about ground beef.
