OP may be an idiot but hes right that hockey players arent in the same area code as far as athleticism when compared to NBA and NFL players. Ive played against some of the best from each sport (in high school) and (future) NBA players had friggen ridiculous athleticism while hockey players were good, they weren't mind blowing.

People need a better grasp of physics. Hitting hockey is using nothing but legs to propel yourself on a super slick surface to impact the opponent with your body weight + pads at the fastest possible speed you can skate.
Results are best if you're charging them into a wall made of hard plastic and glass that is very, very, very unforgiving.
All the while doing this with 2 blades strapped to your feet on a field of ice. Tell me skating is easier than running. Tell me skating while guarding a small puck with a stick is easier than running with a ball until you eventually have someone bear hug you to the ground. Tell me getting crushed between a wall and a 200+ lb man charging you faster than runspeed is easier than getting impacted at runspeed and hitting air / grass. Tell me getting hit in possibly open body parts with a rubber puck at 100 mph, or a human body, or a hockey stick is easier than getting hugged and the odd time body checked.
Hockey is such a pussy sport. The only sport rougher is rugby and lacross because they actually beat you down with the ****ing stick.Last edited by Montre; 01-02-2010 at 04:15 PM.

i'm not a fan of hockey but i know its a very demanding sport. that being said hockey hits have been "measured" and are nowhere near as damaging as football or rugby.
when the hockey player breaks the glass off the boards he actually feels less pain then when it doesn't shatter because when it shatters thats the forces dispersing in the glass. when it doesn't shatter the force comes back.
the glass breaking it making it a "big hit" is only an illusion.♂Nice Ass Crew♀
