I do not see me progressing much as far as getting bigger(bulking)

If you're training consistently, but not getting bigger, you're not eating enough often enough. It's as simple as that.

No brain, no gain.

Not for football. Doing Squats, Power Cleans and Presses will go much furthur towards building muscle than all the curls, kickbacks, and lateral raises you can stand to do. You should also think about working Deadlifts in there somewhere.

I'd count calories, approx 3000-4000 per day from steak chicken and whey protein-no junk. Push the numbers, more lifted will mean more size as well as strength. Creatine and a lot of water 100 ozto 200 oz daily. And be patient. Next season is 8 months away and you'll gain a lot of size and strength but not over night.
And don't neglect agilities and sprints. Football isn't weightlifting and vice versa.

If you want a template with some variety then check out WS4SB III
Here is a great looking PDF for you to look at: http://www.elitefts.com/ws4sb/default.asp
or his website:http://www.defrancostraining.com/articles.html this guy has an impressive track record with football and other sports training. You should spend some time going over his articles or Q/A's.
You'll notice enough common in this template to satisfy your bodybuilding needs as well.
Just remember that excelling in sport requires an onus on strength and transferring that strength to usable power. Bodybuilding protocols don't prepare you for the triple or quadruple extensions and power required in most sport. This is where the big lifts including the power lifts come in.
If you eat well and get the numbers up on those exercises you'll get big and strong. Faster too I might add.
At your age you should be jonesing for the power that speed and strength produces. Let the linebacker in you shape your body.Last edited by tonester; 01-02-2010 at 08:22 AM.

According to your profile, you added 11 lbs in a month-and-a-half. So, assuming you still have the 30-inch waist, and taking your height into account, even if only half of that was muscle, you are bulking up just fine. At that rate, you would add 30-40 lbs by summer!
At your age and weight, I would add pullups/chinups, because they are a good back/bi/grip builder, and a chinup bar is easy to find (or buy for your home). I also agree with doing DLs, but not heavy at age 15, given you are doing squats now, and the typical football practice which is hard on the knees already.

^^^^This, by all means. Sports-specific training and bodybuilding training have very little in common. About the only common ground between the two is in some of the equipment used.
The body becomes it's function, so you should train specifically for what you want to be.No brain, no gain.

You need to train for power, not strength. Keep doing what you are doing & eat more. Maybe this will help:

I started on here in October 09. I have read a lot of posts and learned who to listen to and ignore. I would listen to the above. He knows what he is talking about.
My advice to you is to listen to those that have succeeded at what they set out to do. Not many get there so listen to the winners. This goes beyond BB. Good luck!I'm a great believer in luck and I find the harder I work, the more I have of it. ~ Thomas Jefferson

I can only go by what I have observed at my gym. Based on this, it may be worthwhile to add in some workouts based on speed/agility (as another poster mentioned). I've seen a guy at my gym use no weights, and he's absolutely gassed by the end of a workout. Possibly consider a personal trainer for 1-2 sessions to get an idea of what type of stuff can be done.
Don't get me wrong, it seems like you're doing great.

yes, he does look great for his age AND we must keep his age in mind....
at 15, all he should be doing is basic compounds, a few times a week, as he is doing now, because he is BOTH young AND practicing and playing football at the same time....
right now, at his current age and life situation, he should NOT be doing any sort of long workout stuffed with , right now, UNNECESSARY Isos for this particular young gentleman...
it is an adjunct to his football training.....
between natural maturation and eating well as suggested, he WILL get noticeably bigger in the years to come.....
