Running, push ups , sit ups , pull ups. Focus on what you will be doing when you get there. Why would you do a strength training program before you go? You will loose anything you gain... Do weights when you are done and graduated.

Military basic training stresses endurance not strength. Work on your cardio and calisthenics like pull ups, push ups, planks, etc. If you want a goal I would say work your way up to a daily run of 45 minutes at a moderately fast jogging pace without breaks, 100 push ups and 25 pull ups with a 5 minute plank. One other thing I would tell you to do is to kneel on one knee and hold a broom as you would a rifle, then sprint and go back into the kneeling position. Do this exercise over and over because at some point you will be doing fire team training and section attacks. Finally throw a few bricks in a back pack for a total of about 50 lbs and walk for a good hour. A decent pace is about 1 click every 10 minutes. This will prepare you for the inevitable ruck marching.
I would tell you the most difficult part is going through the theory keeping both eyes open but hey, that's me.
