x2, i had a 3 month period between graduating school and taking my test where i just sat around all day, a BMR calculator said laying in bed all day i needed 1700, when i tried 1700 i gained weight.
i dont think its measurable. if i had to guess i'd say 1300-1500

Depends on your individual metabolism.....
I just bought a HR monitor watch that calculates calories burned. I was surprised to see the difference my workout made in my resting HR following my workout. On a legs day, my rhr took hours to dip back below 80 BPM.....and in those hrs following, I was burning lots of cals just sitting. But, on a lighter load day, especially towards the evening when I was just laying around watching TV, my HR dropped into the high 50's. Ive seen my HR as low as the high 40's while sleeping. The day after Christmas, after taking in a massive load of food, my HR was still in the 70's while I was sleeping! So, I realized there are a lot of variables that effect resting metabolism....recent activity, food intake, sitting vs. standing, etc. Its a cool little toy. On average, I seem to burn about 100 calories an hour though.....but im never just sitting doing nothing all day long.

He's correct. It's all individual, based on a lot of possibilities.
On a side note, how the hell do you sit and do nothing all day? You can't think that's healthy.

computer games can do it.
It would come down to your body personally to know accurately. Body composition and such play a role

Well my problem is a hard fckin major where i might be sitting down studying a week straight. I basically have a normal work-out schedule, until this happens.
