Bench Press: Bodybuilding vs Powerlifting style

So I've been looking at some Dave Tate videos and articles about powerlifting style bench press and wondered what you guys thought about bodybuilding vs powerlifting style with regards to gaining mass.
Now since I am still relatively inexperienced strength gains should result in mass gains but is PL style the way to go about it?
Perhaps when doing 5x5 (or similar strength based low rep work) you should use PL style and when doing higher rep work use bodybuilding style? What about doing high rep work with PL style for a more hypertrophy approach?
(I'd like this to be more of a discussion rather than a 'help me' thread by the way)

    Some stuff on bench...

I choose the PL style for a few reasons:

    1) It allows me to accelerate the bar from a full stretch position more quickly.
    2) It allows me to keep my body tighter, therefore being easier on my shoulder joint. Further this giving me a much better MM connection.
    3) I can push more weight for more reps.

I used to use BB style exclusively in the past and for me PL wins hands down.

To be honest, I do my chest exercises with a fairly close form of a powerlifter. Bar lower on the chest, arms on a 45 degree angle, shoulders back and down and I still have a well developed chest as well as good strength. You personally will have to decided and determine what works best for you.

Just watched that video, which was super informative BTW but I saw no reference to PL or BB styles. I'll be honest and say I've never heard of these before.

"BB style" is what you use till you hurt your shoulders
"PL style" is what you do the rest of your lifting career

    might as well switch now.

I use a hybrid, but bring in a lot of PW techniques like tucking the elbows. I don't arch though.
Bodybuilding is 60% training and 50% diet. Yes that adds up to 110%, because that's what you should be giving it. Change the inside, and the physique will follow.
