had a wild hair today and decided to 10x10s, so after bent rows, squats, incline press, I hit seated calves.
10x10 at 135 at a temp of 2 4 2 3 that felt great
still need to try the single 75 set sometime. just gotta figure out what weight to go at it with.Cur / Goal March 15, 2011

i think calves is a muscle people just overlook at times, and thats why they dont have great development. for me, i love hitting calves 3 times a week with very high reps. thats what i've found works best for me. i've done heavy for low reps but they didnt grow. i dont do less than 15 reps and sometimes i go as high as 30 reps. just like everything in bodybuilding, it's an individual thing.

subbed a great thread I just stumbled on and will go back and read all...
will post a contribution (if repost, sorry)
The 4 minute calf W/O:
Goal is simple do 100 reps in 4 minutes.
Will need a stopwatch or digital watch to time, hit go right before you start the first rep
Choose an excercise where you can drop plates quickly or a machine to pull the pin
Start off at the heaviest weight you can do 8-15 reps, try to bang out a few sets and then start dropping plates. The trick is to find the right starting weight.
As always full range reps for the calves are needed!!
This is way harder than it seems( at least it was to me), the pump is killer. If you have never done it expect some doms!!
I do not use this all the time as a staple but maybe once every couple weeks to shock my calves....
EDIT: oh yea , cant believe Ive never posted in this section beforeLast edited by djflex; 11-05-2010 at 03:28 PM.

Good reminder
Calves are my weak link! Constantly forgetting full rasnge of motion and hate super setting. Thanks for reminder that both are essential. Another reason why is a good idea to browse through the threads.

Skinny Legs
Have always had embarrassing skinny calves and have tried a lot of things.
Found this thread and went to the gym and did 75 reps on standing and 75 on seated calf machines with just 10 or 15 seconds rest between sets of initially 20 then down to 15 and so on.
Day 1 was ok.Day 2 was ok. Day 3,4,5 and probably tomorrow and I have been kind of limping and can hardly walk.Never ever beeneven close to this sore.
Had to tell people I rolled an ankle surfing.
Might have over done it a bit.
Cheers and will keep doing this when I next can.
