Material changes all the time.
But I believe the standard Izula 1095 Steel - 57 Rc material will hold an edge better, and cut better dull or sharp compared to Stainless Steel. Depends how that batch is heat treated and such. Are you just out for the stainless? Might have luck hunting on down on knife forums.

I've already got an Izula.
I love the form factor, just not the required maintenance. The edge always rusts when outdoors and it's a pain to look after.

It got released at SHOT show last month and should be shipping by blade show I think so 2-3 months. They also announced a stainless 3 and 4.

^^ which one? Get a buck strider. Same look and feel for 1/4 the price. It will be considered a gravity knife though, not sure of the legality of those over there. On an unrelated note:

the PT is a really small knife and you are 6'3... its barely bigger than a cryo
I was going to buy an SNG a while ago but then I looked into the state of the strider knock off market and it scared me off. I'd be loathe to drop 4-500 on a folder to start with and the knock offs are so good and so common that I could never pull the trigger. There are lots of videos on youtube showing how hard it is to spot the fakes.

yeah but id hate to get caught on campus with something as big as an smf or even an sng, just because the striders look bigger cause they are massive. i carry a tanto grip everyday now which is 3.45 inch blade. idk why i think id get caught. the problem is that i really want the aluminum handled smf, but a 4 inch blade is huge, plus idk if im even allowed to carry knives on my person in nj srs. and they dont make the sng or the pt with the aluminum. i want the aluminum grip because it looks awesome, and it will prevent any future blade play whereas the normal strider blade play comes when the scales get worn down. i hate blade play.
in conclusion, theres no fuking way ill be spending $500 on an aluminum handle smf until i have a job lol like a career

Looking for a fixed blade for my BoB/SHTF. I found a Kabar locally for $60, could probably offer $40. Should i take it or should i check out bladeforums and see if they have an esee 6 or a becker or something along those lines?

You won't get one that low but you can get a number of beckers for 60ish new. 90 would be an excellent deal on a 6. The bk10 is being re-released and looks pretty suave. Should be in that price range. bk7 is pretty similar to the 6 in size.

also worth mentioning that blade show is at the end of the month. there will be a bunch of new blades announced and on sale next month. You may want to consider saving up another few weeks and grabbing the new esee/hoffman knife
