why not do scales? its relatively easy compared to what you have done so far. Hard to say much about the knife with those pics. Basic shape looks ok.
I know most of the people in here aren't into fixed blades or larger knives but after a 2 year wait, KSF has some koster mucks on sale. Great knife."I'm not like most girls." -most girls

I was going to keep it, but someone offered to pay for it, and when I said i'd add scales, they insisted on keeping the paracord. I have another guy who wants me to make another one, and that one will have bloodwood scales. Yeah the angles are off...I noticed that after I posted, doesn't really even give proper perspective.

Anyone interested in buying my Sage 1?
This things is in pristine condition, not a scratch or scuff on her. Blade is factory shaving sharp. Perfect centering, smooth opening, solid lockup with no blade movement. It's a perfect example of the Sage 1.
I just can't get used to it. As hard as I try, I just can't get into finger choils on a small folder. I would have been better off with a ZDP-189 Delica. I find myself reaching for my 940 almost every day, and even my beat-to-sh!t Rat 2 over the nicer Sage just because I cant get into that choil.
PM if interested, I'll go cheap.

It really depends how bad your edges are. If it was me, I wouldn't recommend starting with that only because a 250 grit is pretty aggressive and I'm not the biggest fan of combination stones. If you have no idea what you're doing it's pretty easy to mess stuff up with a 250 grit. If there are no major chips in your knife edge I'd probably get a 1000k king just to start out (and see if you actually like sharpening with a water stone). It's slow enough to where you can learn the basics and be okay, and it's also fine enough to where you can put a very workable edge on a knife. It wont' be hair splitting, but I can put a shaving edge on all of my knives with just the king 1000 in less than 5-10 minutes.
This is the most basic entry level stone that is still 'okay' quality that I'd recommend for a beginner trying to get started:

If you get this, you'd be able to refine the edge and get it 'shaving' sharp with the 6000k side:

If it was me, I'd get the king 1000 and just practice for a few knives, get the hang of it. It's slow enough to where you won't damage the knives or remove too much steel but still capable of very nice edges. It's 14 dollars shipped so you're really not losing much by buying it. Some people hate waterstones so it's nice to just try and see if you like. Once you get used to sharpening (main skills you need to learn: holding consistent angles and being able to build a burr / remove it) and if you like it and want to continue with water stones, I'd recommend adding a 5000-6000 grit stone (about $50 bucks) and then in a while upgrading to a nicer 1000-1200 stone and being set for a long time. If you can afford it and know you want nice water stones, grab a bester 1200 and a suehiro 5000 and you'll have an awesome set (If you go this route and don't like them, shoot me a PM and I'll buy them off you as long as you don't mess them up too much - I can always use more stones). If money is tight, just the king 1000 will be fine in the beginning and then get the nicer two down the road when you can afford it / want to get 'better edges'.
Good luck!I like fast cars, nice watches, sharp knives, and good smells.

Just bought myself an all black Spyderco Tenacious, love the thing. Carry it around with me everywhere and I find myself always just flicking it open and closed (trying not to do this in public lol, mostly in the car and at home). I was wanting to buy an Endura 4 but my dad recently got one and I cut the **** out of my finger playing around with it. Made my decision to go with the Tenacious much easier lol.

a plastic butter knife is too heavy for sloop
No new knives for me, still getting over the flu. Time to start thinking about bike tires and stuff like that. Snow is almost melted here.
Nice Tenacious above, I carry my Ambitious at work and my Spyderco Bradley at home all the time now.
how much you pay?
sloop, I want to add a Tenacious and an Endura to my collection at some point.rumpler of stiltskins

Recently ordered a Zero Tolerance 0452CF from Midway, and they confirmed order, then sent me a out of stock backorder reply... I was pissed. Then they said the new batch was coming in March 29, but havent sent me a shipping confirm on my order yet, so the new stock hasnt arrived.
Im going to get a 20% discount applied to my new order and am just waiting for the confirmation, tried to order it elsewhere online when the first one fell through, but the damn thing went out of stock super fast everywhere.
Ah well, not like I need more knives right away anyways, I just hate missing the boat on impulse buys.
