I'm very disappointed with my sheath for my CRKT neck knife. This sheath is not ideal for neck carry. the knife has fallen out on me twice in the two hours i had it on. Once when running up some stairs and once when i was sitting down and i BENT OVER. i could have very easily stabbed myself...

very user friendly and comes with a DVD. The whole principle behind using it is keeping the blade straight up and down while using a pulling motion to sharpen. Im sure there's youtube videos of it.
So far I've sharpened several knives with my sharpmaker. Works fantastically, better than any stone I've used b/c of the consistency with the angels.

Well I suppose it depends on the type of sheath... I had a fabric wrapped sheath with only one magnet on either side for a neck knife I had in High School. I pulled the stitching loose, added 2 more magnets to either side, and had a professional sow it all back up. Held the knife MUCH more securely.

Hey guys. I need a knife thats 5.5" or less, fixed blade, full tang and eligible for amazon prime.
I'm looking at the ka-bar short version right now but am open to other options. it has to be 5.5" or less because thats the legal limit in Texas for carrying around (this will be in my edc/bob). and i want this for an emergency/survival situation.

first thing that came to mind
http://www.coldsteel.com/kobun.html
A very sweet blade that slips very easily into a boot, I have an older version thats battle worn (as at was) and still performs like a champ.
Also there very reasonably priced, especially if you shop around, and they also come with a terrific sheathLast edited by rockyl686; 03-21-2010 at 01:18 AM.

I have very mixed opinions on Cold Steel, based specifically on which product I'm talking about at the time.
I can't say I love their marketing. That along with my hit or miss experience in the past has led me to stay away in general, but there are no bad feelings. On the other hand, certain companies have yet to really let me down with a product. I am a pretty big fan of Spyderco, Kershaw, and Benchmade.********
