I am still getting to know most of you but you will soon realize that I am a huge data junkie. I keep track of EVERYTHING and have most of my life. It can be cool at times but it can also be a burden (just ask my wife). It can be cool in that I found my workout journal from high school that had been stashed away for 32 years! Now that I started working out seriously 7 months ago I dug it out and it has been interesting seeing how much weight and how many sets and reps I am doing now compared to then. See the “high school journal” for a pic of one page showing how I was a nerd even back when I was 17 years-old.
I will continue to share some more data & analysis as I have time if anyone is interested.
In this thread I will post every once in a while to share some of my old stuff and some of my recent data.
I started exercising and losing weight in Dec 2016. At first I was weighing myself every day but only documenting it on Friday morning. I set a goal of 1 lb per week and charted how I was doing versus my goal, see “weight loss vs goal” pic. My initial goal was 195 lbs and the graph shows that although I lost 26 lbs I did not make my goal of 195 before I stalled for a couple months. Then I regressed for a couple months when I decided to get serious in Nov 2017 where I switched from mostly cardio to lifting with a push-pull split. My graph also shows my future goal of gaining 1.5 lbs per month for my planned bulk started in Sept.
In Feb 2018 I bought a new scale that measures body fat % and I decided to start documenting my weight, BF%, and LBM every day. The “var chart wgt loss by week and day” pic shows how my weekly average weight has dropped over the last 21 weeks. Within each week you can see how my weight fluctuates by day. I have chosen Friday to be the end of my week and I purposely eat more calories over the weekend before getting strict again the following Monday so my weight usually peaks on Sun or Mon.
I started tracking my calories in Jan 2018 and have a bunch more data to share with nutrition tracking including my own actual TDEE calculations. I also have most of my measurements documented from 9th grade and throughout periods of my life and have some comparisons from now to all the way back in high school which are interesting.
I see this somehow got moved to the workout journals section and it is definitely not a workout journal. Just sharing some various data and analysis on my progress.
